Right across the road from the beach! We stayed here in May 2008 with two kids and a grandkid. Our kids were able to party at night without having to drive around, the grandkid loved the pool and kids play area (behind the lobby inside) and the kids activities. He is only 3 so it wasn't a stretch for him. Also, they let you rent chairs and umbrellas cheaper than the beach people did. Room was comfortable and clean - we were facing the intracostal side and I was glad. I think if you faced the ocean side you would have had to listen to the bars blaring music until 3 am. Both the public spaces and the rooms were absolutely gorgeous. The beach was sparkling clean (sand and water) and the pool area as well. If we were to stay there again, however, I would rent a car. It's off the beaten path (which can be nice) but you can't really walk to any nice restaurants or nightspots, and taking taxis all the time is a pain.We didn't try the spa, but it seemed top-notch. This place would be perfect for a quiet get-away of two or three days with someone special. The bed and the room amenities were excellent. Upgrades to hotel were wisely done. My love was very impressed. We intend to return sometime in 2008. Breakfast buffet was excellent, and the late night activities at the bar were enjoyable.
