Moldy Rooms and Rude Staff

When we first got to our room it smelled lemony-fresh but the air freshener that they had apparently just sprayed quickly dissapated and we began to notice a foul smell. Upon further inspection, we discovered there was severe water damage on all of the outside walls and the smell came from the mold that was growing there. A few more minutes in the room and we already had to kill three bugs. My wife and I decided that the room was not healthy for our three-year-old to stay in and we starting calling other hotels.

Less than an hour after checking in, I went to the front desk and told them that the room was unacceptable and we would like a refund for the two-week stay we had just paid for. The manager said that he was going to charge us for the entire night (at a rate higher than what we had originally been quoted) because they had lots of people who would get rooms for an hour to have sex and then claim that it was dirty so they wouldn't have to pay for it. I pointed out to the manager that I didn't need their hotel room to have sex with my own wife and even if I did, I wouldn't drive eight hours from home, book the room for two weeks, bring my son, and pay with a company credit card. He still wouldn't back down from his claim so I told him that my boss would be contacting him to dispute the charge further. I asked him to sign a paper stating what time we checked out so that he couldn't accuse us of having stayed longer and he refused to sign the paper until I had my lawyer on the phone.

I will be contacting the health department to suggest they do a thorough inspection of this hotel.

My family stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. As an older hotel, we truly did not expect it to be this nice. We were placed in the upgraded rooms. I must say this room(112) was as nice as any rooms in the 4-star hotel. Super clean, attractive color c

This place is really turning into a gem.

This place is really turning into a gem. Formerly the Park Inn, this place has really improved in cleanliness and quality since the last time I stayed here. My only complaint is that there's really nothing within reasonable walking distance. Great weekly rates, yummy bagels and coffee for breakfast. What else could you ask for? I recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice place to stay--particularly anyone who stayed here when it was the Park Inn. So much different!

The Park Inn of Urbana, Il. doesn't

The Park Inn of Urbana, Il. doesn't even deserve one star for Awful Service. My first impression of this place was total disbelief. The only reason we stayed is because we were too tired to drive further. We were given a hotel room (105) which has a king bed with a queen headboard and two very small standard pillows. Since we were trying to sleep a family of four, my husband went to the desk to ask for more pillows...they didn't have any but the clerk said she would give him some blankets (sheets actually they turned out to be) to use instead. When we pulled back the covers, the sheets, mattress pad and blanket were so filthy and disgusting, we slept on top of everything in our clothes...and only for 3 hours.Everything in the room was dated, filthy and mismatched, not to mention the horrid smell. The tip I left was for the owner to either get in the hospitality business to be the best or get out because he is giving everyone else a huge black eye.I would never again, under any circumstance, stay in this hovel disguised as a hotel.Steer clear!

We checked in late evening on a friday night to find what I thought was a wild wedding. It turned out to be Male Stripper Night-Great Family Setting!! The room had a serious bug problem and smelled of age and mold. Must give a "Do Not Stay" rating
