Skip the Breakfast

The rooms were clean. For a king "suite," the room seemed small; the pullout "sofa" was a narrow loveseat, so plan accordingly if you are bringing kids. The "Hot Breakfast" was a joke. The breakfast "sausage" was sliced smoked sausage more suitable for sauerkraut than morning; the "french toast sticks" were soggy, thawed from frozen and totally inedible. The next day, it was flour and milk "gravy" for biscuits, or factory cooked fried eggs, which also were frozen and thawed. None of the hot food was remotely edible. Otherwise, there was the usual cereal, bagel, muffin spread typical of U.S. hotels. Skip the breakfast and plan to eat out. Nice location; pricey for the rooms. We would look for a different hotel next time.

The King suite was indeed large, but

The King suite was indeed large, but with a few pieces of furniture parked up against the walls, it just didn't feel very welcoming. An absolutely beautiful view of the Bay was the highlight of the time we spent in the room. In the end, the view did little to make up for the extremely poor housekeeping that we recieved. We are not messy people, but traveling with a year and a half old, spending our days at Petoskey State Park on the beach, we tracked in some dirt. Our room was not vacuumed the last 3 days of our 4 night stay, we did not recieve our correct amount of towels, our bed was not changed when we requested it, and to top it all off, housekeeping did not get to our room until after 4:30 on our last night. The front desks explanation was that they were busy cleaning rooms for early check ins (which they certainly did not allow us to do). For the high, holiday rate we paid, we certainly expected more from these folks, they let us down, and forever lost our business.

Wonderful Hotel to Stay In

I took my mom on a special vacation to Petoskey for her 80th birthday. I wanted everything to be perfect for her. Based on other reviews I read, I chose the Hampton Inn & Suites for us to stay in. I must say that the experience was wonderful. The front desk clerks bent over backwards to accommodate any special request we had. The room was spacious and clean. They provide a continental breakfast which was good. The hot food could have been better, but overall it hit the spot in the mornings. We stayed a week, and all of the employees made us feel like honored guests, cheerfully welcoming us back when we returned from our daily jaunts. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.

I really enjoyed my stay here, everything was perfect. The swimming pool has to be the best I've seen in a hotel. The only thing missing was a fridge and a microwave (too much food in the local restaurants). Service was great, I would definitely stay in one of these again.

The room was very large and comfortable. It had an L shape to it where my thirteen-year-old son had his own sleeping area and TV. It was very roomy. The breakfast area of the Hampton Inn was very accommodating. There were cereals, donuts, juices, sausages, coffee, and many items where the visitor helped themselves. It was very nice!
