This was my first time staying at a Hampton Inn. Based on my experience here, it will not be my last. The hotel, a non-descript building set next to a parking lot, is only about a five-minute walk from the 16th Street Mall. My room was large and comfortable, but even though I looked out over the parking lot, it could not be called "bright". The King-sized bed was very comfortable. While it came with 4 pillows, they were small and made sleeping tough unless you lay almost motionless. In addition to the microwave, there was a fridge. Unlike most hotel fridges, however, it was empty which was great since it meant that it could actually be used!!!! The bathroom was large and comfortable, with a good supply of towels. The Shower tub was too shallow for bathing, but the water pressure was fine.Breakfast was included in the price. It consisted of cold cereal, bread products, juice, fruit, yogurt, and eggs and meat. It is all self-serve. Also included in the price is USA Today and a local Denver paper. If you do not want the papers, make sure that you notify them when you check-in (there certainly is no reason to pay for USA Today to be left outside your front door since complementary copies are available at breakfast). Finally, the staff was also very helpful. About 20 minutes after I checked-in they called up just to make sure that everything was fine with my room.

A bad deal with parking

I stayed at this hotel in February of 2007 - you have to valet park because there is no public parking garage or lot.

When I got my car back - there was a new dent that I immediately reported to management. They took a report and photo - and advised that Risk Management would handle this directly with the rental car company. They did not.

They now refuse to cover the meager $150 for the dent in the car. The will not take my calls and refuse to do the right thing.

I would avoid this hotel unless you are on foot - if anything happens to your car - they will not do the right thing.

It’s an outstanding hotel in an excellent location. It is near everything! The staff was excellent! Parking is a problem, only valet parking is available at a shocking cost! But I would have no hesitation staying there again.

The location was very good -- close to the downtown area. The pool/hot tub was open 24 hours -- great after being out late but needing a way to unwind before bed. The breakfast buffet-provided was excellent. Shortly after checking in, the staff call
