Whether you want a family vacation or a private getaway for two this is the place for you. The hotel sits on the edge of a cliff on the Oregon coast and every room has a great view.

While the Hallmark Resort has nice

While the Hallmark Resort has nice rooms, the dining nearby is extremely overpriced, and the Hallmark Inn service from the staff isn't very good. And don't expect to be able to check in a moment before 4 pm. As they are quite sticklers about this.
For the price I paid for a one night stay, I expected a lot more.

The hotel was just off of 101 right along the ocean. The rooms were very nice and clean and had a beautiful view. There's a restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. I think it's one of the better places to stay in Newport.

Ok, first off, this place is extremely dog friendly. We had our 2 Cairn Terriers with us and they put us in a room just steps from the dog area. They left treats for the dogs in our room and provided us with sheets to cover the furniture.

The best part is the walk to the beach, it's just out the door and down the path.

We highly recommend this hotel.

Great Hotel

We've stayed here many times and have always had nothing but the best service.

We love the fact that we can bring our dogs to a nice resort. The dog rooms are clean. They provide doggie sheets and a doggie treat bag for pampered pets. However, if I didn't have a pet I'd opt for non-pet rooms up higher. The view is great from the upper balconies and they only allow dogs on the lower levels. I suppose if you hate dogs this wouldn't be a good place for you. I've never heard noise from barking dogs. Even as a pet owner/lover that would irritate me.

We love room service from the Georgios (I think that is the right name). This isn't the kind of hotel you find a bellman. I'd consider this a motel even though it is quite large.

We'll go back because the Hallmark is clean, friendly, and has well equipped rooms for a decent price...and they allow pets. It also feels very safe here. Another huge plus is the wonderful beds.

never staying here again !

After a long weekend camping we reserved a room at the Hallmark resort a week in advance. After a two hour drive we checked in and recieved wonderful customer reception.Ordered extra towels and robes for our spa and then found it did not work...The front desk sent a bellman to help us move next door. I went to the desk to get new keys and apologise for being so much trouble but it was for a special occasion and we wanted it to be perfect. As we were celebrating a Birthday. They reccomended a great place to dine for the evening.Apon returning to the room .we filled the spa and undressed to partake.Knock knock at the door. The police were there to evict us for alledgedly "trashing the other room"I was forced to dress naked in front of two officers. The General manager told us the next day when we called the hotel that he had seen both rooms and did not consider them "trashed at all"
Why then were we kicked out at 10:30 at night and told we would be paying for a room we did not use for more 20 minutes !

We were so amazed

I like your hotel! I was expecting that we will get the worst room since we have a dog. Our room was so big and we have access to the beach! I like the amenities , like the microwave, the refrigerator since we brought some foods from home. I would likely come back to this hotel !!! The only thing though is that there was no bell man to help us, and nobody help us even though the people in the counter saw how we need help. So hopefully next time, there is already a bellman.

Needs some maintenance. Location of resort is close to a state park for Yaquina Bay's old light house, which is a nice place to visit, it provides nice views of the bay bridge and ocean, and it has a fun history. Location is close to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, which is a must see. Hotel is set on a steep hill, and access to the beach is not easy. Be sure that you have a car because the area around hotel is very unfriendly to bicyclists and pedestrians (no bike paths, no sidewalks, no boardwalks) Also, the glass window panes in rooms have a cloudy haze (probably due to sandblasted surface from constant 25 mph winds after 10 am each day), which creates hazy window views of the ocean. Rooms are a little out of date; dark carpeting, BLAH! wall colors, no wall art or framed pictures, and old plumbling fixtures. Jaccuzzi for room is located next to the bed (out of place), and is set in darkest part of room - it would be nicer if it were a little more private and/or was near a window close to a view of the ocean.

We went in December for a honeymoon and it was much warmer than expected. The staff was the nicest hotel staff I have ever encountered and the view from our room was amazing, it overlooked the beach! Newport is one of Oregon must see towns, it is beautiful and relaxing, you will not find a better place to kick back.

Our visit was very nice. We had accommodations for ourselves and my daughter and her family. We also had our dog with us and he was accepted. Our room was very clean and very roomy. It had a loft above our bedroom and our daughter and her husband slept up there. We were facing the Pacific Ocean and it had a nice patio porch with chairs. We had dinner a couple of times at their restaurant, the food was excellent as well as the portions. We had a very nice visit.
