Left after 15 minutes

I was a Carney for 5 years and stayed in some god awful hotels/motels/campgrounds in my day.

That said, I left this hotel after only 15 minutes. First when I got there (fairly late) the people were fairly rude and unprofessional. They informed me they would charge me a fee for a safe in the room, unless I demanded they take it off when I checked out.

As I said it was late when we got there, so all I really wanted to do was go to sleep. When we walked into the room, it was just nasty, the floor looked like it hadn't been vacuum in months, dust everywhere, half the lights didn't work. The Murphy bed was broken. The bath room upstairs was covered in mold and all the faucets leaked. The whole place was in general disrepair (broken tiles, cabinets, etc.).

My wife was about to cry, so I said that we could leave. We went back to the front desk to tell them we were leaving because it was nasty and they acted like that got that all the time and just said okay. I then had to fight with them and expedia for a couple weeks before I finally got a refund.

Bottom Line: This isn't the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, but it is the worst one that cost more than $30.

I'd stay there again!

My sister and I recently stayed at the Guesthouse Inn in Tulsa on 41st Street. The location was convenient to shopping, restaurants, the highway, gas stations and more. The property weathered the deluge of rain well, and although rain dripped through the steps outside our room, we kept our umbrellas handy, and it was not a problem. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and space of our "apartment" given the last couple of reviews posted here. The kitchen was very clean, and we were delighted to see the table settings on our eat-in-kitchen bar. The property seemed lived in which made us feel very comfortable and at home. It was not noisy, so we both got lots of much needed rest. The desk clerk was very helpful, and we wanted for nothing. My sister and I had a perfect getaway weekend. Thank you, Guesthouse Inn.

VERY DISAPPOINTED - can't believe all the grea

Okay, I can't believe I'm reading all these rave reviews about this hotel! We must have just really gotten a room in an old building or something. Room #1222, a bilevel Penthouse Suite, which was indeed spacious, but falling apart. What made me REAL nervous, was that we had to sign a $500 permission slip so to speak, giving them permission to charge my card up to $500 if they found any damage to the room once we left. We checked in, and I was shocked at how poorly the room had been maintained. The headboard on the Murphy bed was literally hanging by one hinge, so when the kids laid on the bed, it fell forward and whacked them on the head. We had to call the front desk and have the maintenance man just come take it off, so that we wouldn't get blamed for it. There was a large area of white paint on the carpet upstairs that no one had bothered to remove - broken tile, missing grout and no vent cover in the upstairs bath, not to mention the knobs were reversed, so my hubby scalded his hands when he washed them. Appliances were VERY old, and barely working, especially the stove. The blanket left in the closet as a spare, had several holes in it that appeared to have been cut with a knife, so I had to return that to the desk as well, for fear I'd pay for it. The pillowcase on the spare pillow was filthy dirty - no telling how long it had been up in the closet - looked slept on. Green slime left behind on one wall from a child, trim missing here and there in the room, and heavy dirt/dust areas on the vaulted ceiling, where it had collected on the stucco. Smoke damage above kitchen stove, big dent in frig, dishwasher barely working and dirty - had 6 inches of soured water left in the bottom, so it smelled bad - had to run a cycle just so it would drain out. I could go on and on, but those were the main issues we found. Pool was "ok" and appeared to be maintained - room was spacious. Only one person at front desk, and she had no business being left alone, as she had no idea how to help us when we needed her the few times we did. We finally realized it was of no use asking her anything. Very frustrating, especially when you have a problem and no one there capable of handling it. Still nervous that I might end up somehow paying for a poorly maintained room. Not sure the housekeepers cared much for their job either. POOR POOR property, would only stay again if we just HAD NO OTHER CHOICE. It takes ALOT to get me to complain - I'm generally more tolerant than most, but this place took the cake!! Decent price for a roomy suite, had it of been clean and in good repair, but it simply wasn't.

Never stay here again!

We were so disappointed in our stay at the Tulsa GuestHouse and Suites. We stayed in the bi-level room and it looked like it had not been cleaned. There were cigarette ashes in the shower. The bathtub faucet would not shut completely off - It was a steady flow, not just drips every now and then. The complimentary shampoo and soap had been opened and used. The freezer looked like someone had put a can of soda in there and it exploded. It had not been cleaned. The blanket on the bed had areas of God knows what soiled on them. There was mold growing on the ceilings in the bathroom and bedroom. The breakfast was minimal. When we told the front desk about our problems with the room, the comment back was "well, for the price, what do you expect?"

The setup was good, but needs major updating

Their rooms need lots of updates, the Lazy-Boy chair should have been thrown out, there were roaches and the blankets were dirty.

Other than that, the setup was great, and the front desk attendant was very attentive.

I had a great two days in Tulsa, ok, arrived on a Thursday, the front clerk wrote out a lay out of the town. Streets were in number grid and alphabetical order. Went to go see WEEN at the Cains Ball room, and ate at the Melting Pot on the Riverwalk. I cant wait to go back.

My daughter plays basketball for a university in Tulsa, OK. We have stayed at the Rodeway Inn, now Guest House Suites for the last 3 years. The only place to stay. Great breakfast, wonderful staff, free paper, spacious facilities and full kitchen! Wouldn't stay anywhere else as we bring along other family members to watch the games!
