We live locally & decided to rent a room for New Years Eve. Although they were having a party at Spinners that cost $100 per head, our goal was to have a sunset dinner & then spend the rest of the evening either in our room or on the beach. The restaurant was closed at sunset!!! We were charged $250 for a $108 room..AND were told it was an upgrade! Paul, who checked us in, engaged in a verbal confrontation with us upon arrival. We had phoned ahead for early check-in & were told that our room was ready; upon arrival we get an argument from some guy who insists our room is not ready and no one told us it was ready! We get to our room, which is in the corner of the building, and very odd shaped. It was so tiny, we were bumping into each other in the room!!! We went to Bahama Mama's, who boast to have great tropical frozen drinks; the drinks were absolutely horrible!! I have never had a worse pina colada. There was supposed to be live music outside; there wasn't. For the same cash, we could have stayed at one of the nicer resorts; it would have been worth it for the quality of the stay. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!

Good experience

Very comfortable king size bed. Murphy bed good idea, more room to move about. The hotel has tile floors surely because of all the sand people track up to rooms. Great location, would recommend getting gulf view and pay extra for it. No hot tub was a bummer and pool was nice and warm 2 nights but too cold to swim one night. Bar right by the pool right on the beach is nice. The room doors slam shut very loudly so every time someone enters or leaves the room there is a loud slam and it wakes you up. Spinners restaurant is awesome view, food is OK not great. Overall hotel was fine, you should be out enjoying the beach and not stuck in your room anyway as this is a really beautiful location and view of the gulf.

Pool, beach.A little outdated but I think they are working on it.“Great location and the staff were wonderful. The roof top dining was outstanding but the rooms could be updated a touch.”

Decent wireless throughout. Both restaurants are poor and it's an unattractive hotel with a 1975ish look.“Hotel is a good location and decent stay for price. I would have been upset if it was even $15 dollars more per night. The face lift was a paint job. Very noisy hotel. Can hear people walking in hallways and traffic outside. Staff not well trained and they talk loud and often inappropriately. They actually glued fist sized rocks over the entire exterior. The elevators are shaky and the rotating restaurant spins with bumps and reveals how poor condition of the penthouse rooftop.”

The view.Couldn't sleep both nights other guests way too loud.“The guests that stayed at this hotel we running he halls, throwing things off the balconies, knocking on our door at all hours. The nights we were unable to sleep! We did not enjoy ourselves for the money we paid! I will not go to this hotel again!”

Great location on beach revolving restaurant on top floor.Room dirty, stains on furniture, extra charge for beach chair and to print boarding passes.“Great location and views for the price. Small rooms with metal doors which had to be slammed in order to shut and thin walls made for noisy environment. Beautiful view from revolving restaurant on top floor, but food quality poor. Lots of extra charges for items usually free at other hotels, e.g. Beach chair rentals $20 per day per chair and $5 charge to print boarding passes.”

The customer service and attitude of the employees. The "fees" for services like internet, use of the business center, movies.“We were pleasantly surprised. Loved the decor of the rooms and the great view from our room. This was an older hotel (clearly), but what made all the difference was the attitude of the staff. From the front desk clerk, to the bellboy, to our housekeeper, to the room service. Everyone we came in contact acted like they were working at a 5 star resort. Their attitudes, courteous behavior, professionalism were a total 10.”

The hotel was nice enough and the location was great, but it was our honeymoon and we felt like we totally got snubbed by the staff. We knew there were no guarentees about being upgraded or anything, but when you pay for an oceanview room, you expect just that, not a ocean/cityside view. We had to request to switch rooms once, and they still didn't even try to get us a room with a good view, we were still over on the side. We booked a year in advance, and it was September not excatly a busy time of year for tourism!!! I would stay here again if it wasn't for an extra special occasion. But if you are expecting to get treated special if you are honeymooning, hang it up and go somewhere else.

The accommodations were excellent, as were facilities and staff, especially Lori and the concierge, Micheal. Would definitely recommend it. Hoping to be with you again in 2008!
