The beds are noisy and bouncy. Tried putting the mattress on the floor. Management did nothing, checked out early. Front desk help clueless, refused to give a receipt when checking out. Nice location on boardwalk, but so are many other hotels. Not worth the room rate.

Location, location, location.

My wife and I have stayed at the Grand for four consecutive years. 2007 will make it five. I consider trying elsewhere but the location of the hotel along with covered parking make it hard to beat. The rooms are more than ample unless you're expecting New York's "Plaza". Almost every room has a great view. (Tip: Ask for a room on the north side of the building preferably on the 4th floor or higher) Two pools, one inside one out. The pool bar serves great Pina Coladas. This is a beach resort. There's sand and moisture just about everywhere. If you're expecting the Plaza in N.Y. then stay there. As for a beach hotel, it's as good as any and much better than most.

Would Love to Go Back!

I booked a room on a last-minute deal which was a great price - my 3-night stay was equivalent to what I have normally paid for one night on other trips I've taken. The internet connection did not work in the room we were given, but the hotel staff quickly came to our assistance and moved us to another room - a much nicer room with an oceanfront view immediately. The staff quickly delivered an iron and ice bucket when requested since there were none in the room we were moved to. The staff answered our many questions about restuarants, directions, etc. promptly and courteously. The room was spacious and clean. The view of the ocean from our balcony was breathtaking. The area was clean. Parking was convenient with a parking garage available to guests. Since our trip was off-season in this resort town, many businesses were not operating, but the staff was quick to direct us to those that were. I highly recommend this hotel. If you are looking for a hotel with a restaurant, though, this one is not for you. The restuarant here was only open for breakfast-brunch Saturdays and Sundays and cash-only. The lounge/gameroom of the hotel serves appetizers only. The coffee-shop served sandwiches/salads/ice cream/beverages/bagels/patries, but not what you would call a "meal". All in all, in my opinion, this was a fine hotel to stay at.

The Grand will be our hotel this year!

My sister and I have been going to Ocean City every May/June for the past 10 years. After staying elsewhere for the first few years and seeing the Grand being built, we stayed here in 2004 and 2005. We decided we would try somewhere else just for a change of scenery.

In June 2006 we stayed a few blocks down the boardwalk from the Grand. There was no comparison to the Grand's staff, cleanliness of the rooms, atmosphere, lack of noise and overall visit. Our reservations clearly stated the dates of our stay, but the staff told us we were not scheduled to arrive until October. After going through the "we have one room left and I guess you'll get it", we wished they had found us another hotel. We were very disappointed that we had chosen a place other than the Grand.

This year we are going back to the Grand and I'm sure it will be a Grand experience. You can't beat the price and atmosphere.

We enjoyed our stay at the Stowaway

We enjoyed our stay at the Stowaway Grand Very much. It's conveniently located on the boardwalk, and near many attractions. The rooms were spacious and the view (oceanview from every room) was great. Service was excellent. The beds were a bit squeaky, and the pillows were a bit wimpy. I would definitely stay here again if I could get a good deal, but as it was expensive off-season, I'm not sure we could afford it in-season.

Nice rooms, dirty glasses

My son and I stayed here for about four days. I thought the rooms were very nice and the location was very nice. In the dining area, the clean glasses looked as though they had been run through the washer with no detergent (and that continued for the two visits we made to the dining area on two different days) other people there noticed the same thing. The glasses were basically filthy, so for the nicely decorated dining room, I was quite surprised. When I poured water and apple juice on two occasions for myself and others there were particles floating in the beverage and I found dried food bits on the 'clean glasses' in the crates nearby. I was almost responded to with a smirk when I ask if I get another glass.

The front desk service, well, they were courteous but short, I received very much the one-worded answers. I thought they could be a tad friendlier. The game room, outdoor pool and small gym they have were nice. The room was, well, let me say, I came in and the bed spread basically had a lump on it, so I pulled the bed spread back and realized they hadn't even straightened out the sheets or blanket underneath, I felt that should've been basic to make the beds.

The staff is really unfriendly, the whole place looks like it is 20+ years old. The pool smelled funny and had weeds growing up between the cement. The "patio" outside the 6th floor restuarant had weeds and deadplants as did the rooftop the 2nd floor overlooks. Again, staff very unfriendly and I could not understand them. Rug in room was coming up, sliding doors were very hard to open. Bathroom looked old.

The hotel was nice.We booked late so we payed alot of money.I think overall the stay was good. The cleaning of this hotel needs to be Majorly improved.Staff is not friendly and doesn't seem to care much. The view from our oceanfront was great and made the stay worthwhile. I didn't like the way the balcony connected to the other guests balcony. It is only seperated by a net!So you can see and hear them.I could hear the people upstairs flush their toliet!! If I couldn't find a better hotel then I would stay again because I'm sure there are many worse. So its about a 6 out of 10 in my book

Great hotel. Been going for 15 yrs have stayed at 6+ others.Rooms have a nice view compared to some ocean"view" rooms. Room was large,a plus with kids(we have 3). Bathroom was small size, tight bathing kids. Most hotels are older so I don't expect the same as new.Didn't have direct oceanfront but view was great. The pools(indoor, outdoor) and small gameroom are all together Inside pool is alittle small. Mostly families with young kids so it got quiet earlier than some hotels, even on the boardwalk. For a family this was a great place, we will go back

This was the second year in a row we have stayed at the Grand and we love it. We love the coffee shop and the pool and pool bar are also great! We enjoyed our room that was very CLEAN and the view is amazing. The staff was very friendly, courteous & attentive. We found the entire hotel to be above average from other places we have stayed on the boardwalk. We definitely will stay there again!
