We and our friends stayed at Grace

We and our friends stayed at Grace Manor the day after the Virginia State House reopened after renovation and the day before Queen Elizabeth's historic visit there. We got to see the newly restored State House before the crowds arrived for the Queen and we had time to visit several other fascinating places in and around the city. In addition to the Inn's comfort, ambience and fabulous breakfasts, the Schicks gave us wonderful help and guidance that made our visit memorable.

We spent a long weekend in Richmond, VA

We spent a long weekend in Richmond, VA at the Grace Manor Inn. There are only 3 rooms (suites actually), and the private bath is not en suite (but robes are provided.) The facilities were spacious and very clean and comfortable. The hosts were most helpful in identifying events and destination of interest to us. The breakfasts were outstanding: original, delicious, and displaying considerable thought. Our special dietary needs were managed with elegance. All in all, we recommend Richmond as a weekend (or longer) destination, and believe that the Grace Manor Inn's hospitality, location, and ambiance will add to your enjoyment.

Grace Manor is where I stay whenever I am in Richmond overnight. They are always very hospitable with wine and cheese, and bottled and mineral water in your room on arriaval, plus coffee, port wine and home-made cookies on hand at all times. Help with bags up the stairs is greatly appreciated. The cozy beds, sitting rooms, gormet breakfasts, decor, Yorkies, directions to local restaurants, relaxed atmosphere, and more keep me coming back!

A wonderful find in the historic Fan district. 1910 mansion, in perfect condition. Each of the 3 suites has 2 rooms, a bedroom and sitting room, with period pieces, beautifully decorated. Each has its own bath. The owners are wonderful hosts. The breakfasts are truly amazing, 3 course meals, with complimentary bellinis, mimosas, etc. Each guest is greeted with a cheese platter and bottle of wine (your choice, red or white).I can't recommend it enough!

Grace Manor Inn is a gracious and

Grace Manor Inn is a gracious and beautiful quiet haven in the middle of this surprisingly busy and historical city. The level of comfort is immense, with large, two room suites, a multi-course gourmet breakfast, and lots of beautiful public spaces.Intriguingly decorated with Victorian antique and reproduction furniture, which beautifully compliments its historic heritage, the Grace Manor Inn provides a comfortable and beautiful location just to sit for a while and sip a glass of wine. A music room, complete with baby grand piano, holds beautiful green and gilt furniturethe main sitting room in soft tones and white feels like a step back into the pasta more genteel and relaxed past. There's a lovely outdoor area, too, and off street parking. One of my favorite places was the swing on the second floor balcony out back, where I could sip a glass of wine, and listen to the birds in the trees outside. You're warmly greeted, given a tour of this interesting home, and put into a comfortable suite (ours was the least expensive, it still consisted of a large bedroom, beautifully appointed and including thick robes, as well as a sitting room with a TV, couch, Italian coffee maker for our first cup of coffee in the morning, a refrigerator stocked with a cheese tray, a bottle of wine and bottled water, and lots of room to stretch out.) Breakfast was wonderful, and included mimosas or bellinis if desired, multiple courses, and a great deal of attention paid to special diets (the weekend we were there, the guests included me, a vegetarian, and some others who were doing a low-carb diet. The cook (co-owner Dawn) provided an exquisitely delicious gourmet breakfast for each of us, probably the best breakfast I have ever had, which perfectly followed our dietary needs. It was great. When I go back to Richmond I will stay there again.

Wonderful 1910 fully restored Victorian

Wonderful 1910 fully restored Victorian in the historic fan district of Richmond. Beautiful gardens, porches, and balconies are available for the guests. Its homepage is www.thegracemanorinn.com. (The pictures do not do it justice!)This B&B has three, two-room suites. The rooms are very big, and gorgeously decorated in period antiques. Since the house and gardens are huge, there are lots of lovely private spaces, inside and out.The B&B is run by a husband and wife team, Albert (an appropriately Victorian name!) and Dawn. Albert and Dawn run this as a serious (though seriously fun) business, truly pampering their guests. (Unlike some B&B which are run as a "hobby.") While very friendly and informative about the area, they respect guests' privacy as well.Dawn is a trained chef, and the breakfasts she makes are awesome! Three courses, with champagne, mimosas and bellinis offered, in addition to fabulous coffee. Factor this treat in when evaluating the pricing. It really is a dining experience, graciously served by Albert. All in all, this is without doubt the best B&B experience I've ever had. Very professional, but also personal. I strongly recommend a visit! (PS Despite the cowboy avatar I somehow seem to have acquired, I am a CT Yankee from NYC area.)

This is a wonderful property in the historic Fan district. Each suite has a huge bedroom and a separate living room. They serve wine and cheese on arrival, bottled waters in the fridge, a gourmet coffee maker in room, and the most incredible 3 course deluxe breakfasts you can imagine!

It’s truly a pampering experience.
