The online travel website rates this hotel as a 5 star. I wouldn’t rate this hotel a 1 star. The hotel does not even provide parking for their guests, except for valet parking. When we asked the front desk manager, when we checked in, where can we park, he informed us that we have to find parking in the street if we do not chose to use their valet service. We ended up parking 2 blocks down the street. Then we attempted to check in, they advised us that they could not find our reservations. Front desk mngr. informed us that they a have a newly remodeled room available on the 20th floor. We accepted. When we entered the room, there were huge water spots on the ceiling, the lights were not working properly, the hairdryer in the bathroom did not work at all, the toilet in the bathroom was extremely loose, the sound on the TV set was adjusting itself(up-down). The following day, we went to the front desk and advised them of all of the discrepancies we have found in the room and also requested to be moved from that room. Our comments were ignored and our request was denied (to make it brief). Of course we checked out immediately and went our way. We had a good stay at the Phoenix, we stayed during the Street Vibrations in September 2005 and really enjoyed ourselves. They have really done a lot to this hotel since the last time I was there in 2004. It is very close to everything you need. The cafe and the Restaurant have very good food.
