So convenient!

This is a uniquely small hotel with the added interest of being 'artistically' pleasing. You probably will not find another hotel in the world that looks like this! It is slightly worn at the edges but for the price in Singapore and the location by the river (walk to restaurants) it is a deal. I used this hotel to take my daughter to Phantom of the Opera and plan to use it again to see other shows.

Not bad lar. For party animals.

The hotel is one of the most unique one in Singapore, in that every room is decorated differently. The furniture are all unique n realli avant garde.

location is great if u r a party animal. It's right next to Mohammed Sultan, one of the few clubbing streets in Singapore and houses the Liquid Room.

Boat Quay(5min walk) and Clarke Quay(2min walk), the other 2 clubbing areas are also within walking distance, as is the rather famous Zouk(10min walk).

For people who wants to shop til u drop, take a cab to Orchard Road takes less than 5 mins. Don be so cheapskate n take mrt lar.

The Central Biz District is also a short 5min away by cab.

The restaurant is pleasant, comfy but v quiet. Kinda under-rated.

The room size is as stated, realli small but forgivable since it's such a unique design, as is the toilet.

Not much amenities otherwise to speak of.

The pool's not that great but if u r naughty u can make passersby wet but splashing them with water ala "Waterballoon Drop" game. lol.

IMHO the reviewer fr HKG who had a bad experience must be really really suay. That means "unlucky" in Chinese Hokkien dialect. Lol.

All Review Photos Pass on staying here

All Review Photos Pass on staying here - and go stay at a place that has a staff that is interested in taking care of customers. Its not often that I ream a hotel, but the Gallery has been a long time favorite of mine - until 2 weeks ago. With a key location on Robertson Quay, and close to Clarkes Quay and Mohammad Sultan Road, the Gallery is a great place for being close to the food places and clubs that really swing at night. There are also two very good clubs that are part of the hotel for those that do not want to travel far.I have stayed several times before at the futuristic Gallery hotel and grown to like its funky furniture and room layouts, and even the blocks of sandalwood used to freshen up the room. The showers, which have glass backings that are part of the room wall, are just a cool feature. The central switching system is more like an antique now than high-tech. The layout of the rooms is so different that it is cool.I love the pool up on the fifth floor, with its glass walls that let you see down on the street from up high. The pool has always been the main draw for my stays at the Gallery, and I have used it a lot of late afternoons. All that said, I did have a bad experience during my last stay in August, and because of it, the hotel lost my business. Having placed my reservation in online, I arrived at the hotel late in the evening after delays getting out of HCMC. The front desk informed me that the hotel only had rooms on its smoking floors. I stated that I did not want a smoking room but was left with no choice - it was all they said they had, and I took it. Having stayed there several times in the past few years, it is hard to believe that their computers did not show me as a returning customer and one who is a nonsmoker. Then again, with the general attitude of the front desk staff, it would not have made a difference anyway. A staffer was supposed to have come in and freshened up the air, but I do not think it happened. The room still reeked of chain smoking. The breakfast at the Gallery is complimentary, but not something I would hang around for if it had not been raining. You are better off going out and finding breakfast. But though I may have disdain for most of the front hotel staff, I do have to give credit to the staff in the restaurant for being friendly and actually doing a super job. Maybe the front desk could learn from them.

Worst hotel experience anywhere! Precious time was

Its slogan reads "The hotel that inspires". But it's more like the hotel that messes things up.

ROOM: I had the same problem with the double bed room. We made a request for a double bed room and were told that they were full by the time we checked in. We repeatedly asked the manager to tell us how the higher-grade room is different and the only thing he could tell us was that the bed was bigger and the price was higher. Our only option was to upgrade for some SGD35 a night, which we reluctantly did. A front-desk girl (who spoke poor English) then brought us up to our room. We opened the door with the room key we had just been given only to discovered it was ALREADY OCCUPIED. Someone's luggage and shoes were in the room. A lot of embarrassment was already saved because those people were not in the room at the time, but it's very scary to think that someone can just walk into our room the same way when we were out. We had to go back down to front desk, where the manager told us that he had marked that room for us at the same time that another front desk staff did for someone else and the record had not yet shown the room as occupied. But that was clearly a lie because the people that occupied that room had not just checked in, they were already out of their room. Finally we were given another double bed room. The same girl brought us up again, then when we reached the 5/F the manager popped out or the backstairs and led us to the other side of the hallway saying he's arranged another room for us instead and will waive our upgrade charges becasue of the incident that had just happened. We finally settled down in the room, which was very small (I reckon it's a room of the original grade, they had just said the double bed rooms were full so we'd get an upgrade) We were in the room for a few minutes when a bellboy rang our doorbell and brought us three pieces of luggage that DID NOT belong to us!

OVERALL: I believe there's a lot of better hotel choices for this price. I personally believe the Gallery Hotel deserves a rating of no more than three stars. The hotel (lobby, rooms, restaurants, swimming pool) is a lot smaller than its website would have you believe. The room was not at all clean. We found a couple hairs on the bed before we even opened the cover. As another reviewer here mentioned, the shower curtain was moldy. Our room had the view of a construction site right across the street, which is the same view they have at the restaurant where breakfast buffet is served. And by the looks of it, that construction will go on for a lot longer.

LOCATION: Don't believe anyone who tells you the Gallery Hotel is 10-minute walking distance from the MRT station. The closest station is Clarke Quay but It's way too far to walk. There are bus stops behind the hotel that would lead to most popular destinations, but if you plan on relying on the MRT, this is not where you want to stay.

GOOD: ONE concierge guy was very helpful when we asked for bus information. But just that one.

The hotel is very modern and trendy. Has own style.

The location is very quiet, along the river walk.

One of the best hotels and will stay at this hotels for the next trip to Singapore.
