Dirty, and bad service, do not stay here

I decided to write a review because the final straw has been broken by the Best Western Asheville Biltmore. Not only was our stay at the hotel the worst experience that I have ever had at a hotel, but my boyfriend and I were both charged $134.82 for the night we were subjected to a dirty room, no light bulbs, backing up of our bathtub with no drainage,[we could not take showers] dirty shower curtains, a broken towel rack, filthy stained carpet and towels and apparently we were in a non-smoking room that smelt like a urinal.

I have never stayed in such an awful place. I am now re-living the incompetence of our check-in a month later sorting out the double payment.

When we arrived at the check-in, they had overbooked the rooms and told me that I had to sleep in a smoking room. Unfortunately, I had to complain and fuss as I am very allergic to smoke and so they bumped the next person (who hadn't checked in yet) into a smoking room and gave us theirs. (Very professional as I had booked our room two weeks prior.) They told us that this was their standard practice. So, don't think you will get what you wanted.

We asked for a king size bed and we got two twin beds. While we spent over an hour sorting this out as a line-up of over a dozen people began to brew a woman came up to complain about the music playing in their 'restaurant.' The young woman was with her three children 13, 8, and 5, having a juice when she realized that the music playing was full of profanity. She turned to me ashamed as if to say 'I don't complain for nothing.' 'I am not a prude but the lyrics in the music they are playing are very crude.’

I walked the twenty paces from the front counter into the 'restaurant' called 'Decades' and she was absolutely correct. I couldn't believe it. The front clerk had the audacity to tell her that they 'i.e. the Best Western' had no control over the restaurant, that the 'restaurant' just rented the space from them. The clerk told the woman to phone the Best Western hotel chain, she didn't offer the number and of course there was not a manager to be found.

The restaurant 'Decades' is located immediately off the front desk and oddly enough, if the hotel is not associated with the restaurant why does the Best Western offer their breakfasts in there? The restaurant, Decades, is a dark discotheque that resembles a bad basement and you get to watch music videos in the dark while having your morning sock water [coffee]. At night we saw what looked to be hookers coming in and numerous people cruising with girls they would pick up.

Do yourself a favor. Do not stay at this hotel. I have traveled all over and internationally and I have yet to experience a hotel that had so grossly misrepresented itself.
This hotel needs to be shut down, renovated, and put under new management.

Worst Western

This is one of the poorest run hotels I've stayed in. They did not have my reservation made nearly a month earlier. I had to take a smoking room when I originally requested a non-smoking on the lost reservation. Their fifty dollar non-refundable pet fee is outrageous. The room was not clean, and the lighting in the room was extremely poor. There were only 3 lamps, each operating at about a 25 watt output. The light in the closet area was not working. The finial for one lamp shade was found lying on the floor. The room had a cracked sink. There was no refrigerator or microwave. It took nearly 5 minutes to get hot water warm enough to shower. It was also the worst continental breakfast of any hotel I've ever stayed in. No plates, only 3 overripe bananas, a few hardboiled eggs and a few donuts left at 07:30. The room was dirty, and looked as if it was also used as a night club. Again, not much lighting. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and it has caused me to eliminate Best Western from my choices in the future.
