Horrible!

Me and my boyfriend came here for a weekend to get away and relax. We got a package which included a room with a jacuzzi and when we arrived into the room, we noticed that not only was there no jacuzzi, but a DIRTY BATHTUB! It was completely disgusting. Only half the channels worked on the tv, which was kind of disappointing. Only two of the elevators were working in the tower and took about 20 minutes to find a ride down to the first floor!
The hotel staff was very rude! The service desk seemed very lost and confused and didn't really know what they were doing. We ate breakfast in the restaurant and the food was mediocre and we didn't get our drinks until after we had eaten our food! The service was horrible... we sat for about 10 minutes without even seeing a single server.
The waterpark was ok. Seemed it had more for the little kids than adults. The lifeguards seemed very young and like they weren't paying attention at all...

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! This past weekend was an awful experience and I will never go back!

Our family of 30 stayed on a Saturday Night. The room was so much nicer than I expected, Waterpark was a ball and well supervised, restaruant offered excellent service and there is so much more there for everyone. Arcade room, art tables, kiddie kareoke, dance lessons, the kids got to hear stories from Mrs. Clause and had breakfast with Santa. There is a nice bar for the adults. We are going to make it a new family tradition, everyone had a ball. Thank you Fort Rapids

STAY AWAY!

WOW, were we disappointed! My family and I went to this park because when we planned our trip, it was last minute and the weather called for rain. It's a good thing it was sunny, because all the time we spent in this place was horrible. Even before we made our reservation we had problems. I called and was quoted one price but since we had to get to soccer practice, I told her we would call back later that night. I did and was quoted a completely different price and told that the girl I spoke with went home early. I had my wife call back and no-one answered the phone. After several attempts, my wife finally spoke with someone that gave us a third different price. After getting a managers name, my wife called back the next morning and we received the price we were originally quoted. I told my wife the night we were making these calls that I did not think this was going to be a fun experience. I was right.
We got free pizza coupons and decided to use one our first night. The coupon stated that the tax and gratuity was not included. When I called and ordered it, I was told it would be around $4 (I can't remember the exact price) The next night, I ordered it again and asked how much tax was on the pizza and was told something like $.94 and the rest was delivery charge, not gratuity. I picked it up and only paid the $.94. The resturant made us feel as there was only a "buffet" to choose from, but there are pictures in the elevator of a hamburger and other food. We were never even offered a menu. The "buffet" was horrible and my 5 year old son wouldn't even eat the eggs. The "buffet" also only had about 7 or 8 things to choose from and I am being generous on the number.
The first morning we took showers, the water was freezing cold, then scalding hot, and back and forth the entire time we were in the shower. We made a comment to the front desk as were leaving to go to the zoo and I saw her write something down. The next morning the same thing. So we said something to her again only to come back to the room to see a note on the bathroom door that our shower was out of order, and the shower head was on the ledge. After speaking with a manager, Danielle Kravec(who was very nice, understanding and helpful) we got a room across the hall to take a shower in. When we could get in.
If the cards get near anything at all they lose their memory and don't work anymore. I can't say how many times we had to get our cards reset. The final morning I had to make 3 trips to the front desk to get into the room, only to have a manager use his passkey card to let us in to get our belongings. By this time, my wife and son were both crying because of the horrible experience were having. I still can't understand how a Holiday Inn can have such cheap card making equipment.
Housekeeping never changed the sheets on the bed; they even made the bed over the TV remote one of the days. Another day we came back from COSI to see the TV on. It was on Lifetime, but the last thing we were watching was the Olympics. The next morning a bill for a long distance call was slid under the door. It was made while we were gone. Ms Kravec, the nice manager, was the only one to give us clean glasses to drink from.
The only good part of our stay was the waterpark, but the lifeguards didn't seem to care if anyone drowned because they all seemed to be daydreaming of something else. Except for the night there was a party of about 300-400 people from outside the "resort", my son and I had a good time. The slides were exciting for my son, as was the fort to climb on with the big bucket of water dumping on us every once in a while.
Whoever writes an approving review of this "resort", must be mistaken and didn't stay at this place. Even the BBB doesn't recognize this place as a reputable establishment, we should have listened to them! Whenever anyone asks us about our vacation, I tell them how horrible this place was, and to stay as far away as possible!

The waterpark itself was alot of fun. My 5 year old son loved the 4 story interactive play area. The rudeness of the staff is what I had a problem with. We won't be going back. We traveled 99.5 miles to have our day of fun turn into nothing more than frustration.

most of the staff very rude!!

I took my 5 year old son to the waterpark to have a "daycation" and it turned into frustration instead... The waterpark itself was alot of fun with plenty to do but I personally won't be going back because of the rudeness of the staff. The lazy river entrance is very cramped. Your either blocking the walk-way or practically being shoved into it without time to get on the tube. A smile or a simple excuse me or thank you goes a long way but don't expect to get that from the staff.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!

I can't imagine that anyone would write an approving review of this place; unless they were owners or management. This place has the most horrid service, provided by the most hapless and apethetic employees that I have ever dealt with in my 43 years. The good: The slides and waterpark area were fun. That's it...everything else was terrible.

After getting in our room (after and hour wait to check in), we had 2 towels for 4 people, no coffemaker, and no ice bucket. Five calls and 4 hours later, we got our towels...and a coffeemaker full of mold. Okay, we thought...we're here to swim, let's enjoy ourselves. On to the park: No place for us to sit or place our things, no towels and no towel room attendant on duty. Lifeguards were beyond bored. They seemed to actually detest that fact that they have to work. When they weren't half asleep, they were staring at the young teenagers in bikinis, or blowing their whistle at a swimmer who forgot to put a tube back in it's proper resting place (heaven forbid one of the guards would have to get off his/her duff to do some work). All the while, there was constant breaking in the long lines by youngsters who felt they were entitled to go directly to the front w/out waiting. Leading to some of the more responsible parents to have self-police this activity ourselves.

Went to dinner at the grill in the hotel that night: Seated right away, then 20 minutes before a waitress came by to see us. She said, "This ain't my station, but I'll take your drink order anyways." Within an hour, all of our food had arrived. What I mean by this is, first the pizza came (after 30 more mins), then our burgers (20 more mins), then our appetizers came last. Burgers were completely burned and ruined. Complained to the mgr, and he did take them off our tab, after apologizing and admitting that he needed an entire new wait AND cook staff.

Day 2: I'm just too disgusted to go through the trouble of writing anymore in detail on our lousy experience at this place. Let's just say, we spent 2 hours trying to order pizzas through room service, only to wind up calling Pizza Hut to deliver. The room service staff told us they would call us back in 5 mins to take our order. They never did. After another call, they stopped answering the phone. When I complained to the front desk and asked for a manager, the answer I got was, "Why do you need to speak to him?". One more thing...while in the arcade, my kids actually had to wait on an EMPLOYEE to finish playing his game so they could go next!

I complained twice during the first day of our stay, then I realized...it didn't matter...these employees and the management simply don't care. I will be contacting the owners, but I have a feeling my complaints will fall upon deaf ears. I honestly feel that some of my costs should be returned after staying at this place, and I will make sure that I tell everyone I can to STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!

Was promised a cheater rate when the reservations were made. When we checked in, the price was $33 higher. Totally unacceptable!!! If it weren't for me and my guest being at Mt. Carmel Hospital all day, we would have drove back home.

All luggage/guests goes in/out the same door! Hated this!!

Poor service at the resturant inside. Ordered appetizers, never got them. When we received our order, it was wrong. Were charged for 10 beers for 4 people and only received 8 beers.

Not enough elevators. A broken elevator??

Holiday Inn staff should certainly not be riding a guest elevator. How do you get a wheelchair bound guest and room service cart into the same elevator??? Hello!!!!!!

Too many people/youngsters running around aimlessly.

Absolutely the worst hotel, I've ever stayed in.
