My guests got paint/varnish on thier tuxes & dresses, as they decided to paint all the furniture in the rooms and not hang signs. Several guests had to switch rooms because thier air conditioning didn't work. The bug problem was less to be desired. The front desk people are not the sharpest tools in the shed. We mentioned this to the desk clerk before checking in and were informed this was a large family reunion. We were assured they would be quiet before 11:00. We had several rooms booked. The first night, one room of our group was awakened in the wee hours with very loud music and shouting. The front desk was called and when they tried to complain again of the same problem, the desk wouldn't answer. Finally, they got dressed and went down to the desk to try to resolve the issue. On the second night of our stay the party moved to our floor. The people next door to me went out in the hallway and asked the partiers to please quiet down. At 3:00 a.m., I was awakened and called the front desk. They quieted, but resumed around 4:00 a.m. Also, several in our group reserved rooms with two beds. Many received one king bed to accommodate two adults and two teenagers. One room didn't have air conditioning for their two day stay. The Chicago heat was unbearable during this time (it was the third hottest day Chicago had all year).
