My wife and I spent the weekend in this

My wife and I spent the weekend in this hotel, and it had to be one of the dirtiest rooms I've ever had to stay in. We would have checked out, but knew the next available room was 25 plus miles away due to a busy weekend in the area. There was crushed chips on the floor, gum in the carpet, even a wad of gum on the headboard! Every cabinet and door handle was sticky, and covered with various food and who knows what. The "Fully Equiped Utensil" drawer consisted of 1 rusty spoon, and 2 can openers, one of which was in pieces. I made the mistake of opening the nightstand drawer and found the entire drawer filled with crumbs, can top rings, and who knows what else. The bathroom had mold in various places, and I won't get into what the toilet looked like, but it hadn't been cleaned at all... It wasn't just our room, the elevator had some litter, (Bar straws, and a plastic lid from a container, etc) when we checked in. It was still there when we left 2 days later, along with 10 plus pieces of gum mushed in the carpet. I did send an online complaint that night to the company web site. Two weeks later the manager of the property called and offered a refund of 1 night, and explained that "There's been a lot of turnover with the housekeeping staff..." and gave her apolgies. I understand problems with help can be a headache, but I believe it is the managers responsibility to keep on top of the staff and property conditions. This was not a sudden downfall, and they will really have to go a long way to bring the property back into acceptable condition.

It was not on a busy road, and so was quiet. The maids did not disturb the room during my stay. Get good directions to the hotel, as it is not on a main road.

I liked that the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't like that there weren't any gyms, and no food really in walking distance. The location is decent, near to Annapolis, but not on the edge.
