Had a great time

We were pleasantly suprised after reading some of the reviews. They have obviously been working on improving things. Our room was nice and the staff was great. Not a luxury resort, but it was clean and comfortable - and the price was fair. The food

The service was great - everyone was so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The crab dock was fun, we caught lot's of crab. The pool and hot tubs were good sized and not crowded. We will be back!

Loved once, Disappointed once, Trying again

This quickly became a favorite. Our first room was outdated decor, but everything else was fantastic! For the excellent price and amount of space and anemities, we could not ask for more!
The second stay, we had a much nicer room with updated decor, but discovered late when we took our shoes off the carpet was wet. The crab dock was closed supposedly due to Coast Guard requirements because of storm, but after questioning why hotel staff was crabbing and we couldn't, they opened it up again. Service definitely could be improved.
My husband made reservations again...for this Friday night. He told them of our last bad experience and said he wanted to make it nice for me, or else we won't go back...They say we are upgraded to their best room at the lowest rate. I am looking forward to it and hope to report that the last experience is wiped out of our memories by a great experience.
I would love to take my small dog, but the policy is NO DOGS, yet there are dogs on the property, perhaps the condo/timeshare owners have different rules, confusing.
I thought to myself last time there; this place just needs some management improvements, but then we may not be able to afford it as often!
Again, we enjoyed it once before and for the price, relaxed atmosphere and privacy, (not to mention the private crab dock!) we are trying it again.

Pool was warm, hot tub was great after a long day of walking. Kids loved it as well. We would stay there again.

The staff was friendly and the hotel

The staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. The indoor pool was nice and heated, we loved swimming in January. Our suite had a very comfy King-size bed with lots of fluffy pillows. There was a mini fridge and microwave. Having a warm breakfast and newspaper waiting for me every morning was great. I do recommend that you bring your own shampoo. The shampoo supplied by the hotel had a nice smell, but was awful on our hair.

Would not recommend

We enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The personel at the front desk were very friendly. The bed was comfy but we had a hard time finding our room with no markings on the ground level. The closet had a bad smell, the shower curtain was mildewed, coffemaker didn't work, paper towel holder was broken, kitchenette clock didn't work, two of the vertical blinds were broken or missing pieces, carpet had snagged loops. Construction workers had dropped screws in the parking area. All in all the place was poorly maintained and very tacky. Not a good value for our money.

Pretty view

The room views are very pleasant, townhouse suites come with a full kitchen and everything you would need to stay in and cook. Very clean and quiet, as well as spacious. Rooms have dvd and vcr players so you can bring your own movies, or rent them in the lobby.

I would avoid the sparse Sunday champagne brunch, nothing stellar and a sparse selection at $19.95 per person. The baked goods were obviously straight out of a package...was quite disappointed actually. One would just assume there would be some effort put into the food but if you have money to throw away then wander on into the restaurant, the waitstaff are really friendly at least.

This hotel was great for the price. The beds were so comfortable I went back and asked for the number to order one myself! Every morning the breakfast buffet had just the right foods, not too little, not to much. The pool was a bit small but adequate. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel itself seemed off, but was close to many restaurats and not far from the "attractions." I would most definately go back.

Stiffed in New Port

Had great expectations. Rooms were noisy...people below were talking quietly and could hear every word...including when guy was throwing up at 2 in the morning. Rugs must be 20 years old, all need paint, the windown blinds barely worked and the place badly needed general updating. Overall we were very disappointed. We would not stay here again and will let our traveling friends know that this is not a good place to stay. When we shared our concerns with the front desk, they seemed uninterested. Except for the fact we were locked into a two night stay, we would surely have left after one night. Front desk staff were rather arrogant saying we were welcome to leave but they would not refund our money due to 72 hour notice policy. Howev er, great news, we didn't let this negative experience wreck an otherwise great trip.
