The rooms are moderately priced, very comfortable with all the luxury accessories. The staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating and the breakfast and wine hour, which are part of the rate, are terrific. It is really a European experience in the heart of Los Angeles and is walking distance to so many shopping areas and restaurants. The hotel is artistically stylish, the room was beautiful, and the bed very comfortable. The continental breakfast was actually very good, with high quality breads and pastries. The complimentary wine and cheese at 5 PM was another unexpected bonus. Staff was courteous and prompt. Housekeeping will hound you in late afternoon to make the room even if you do not want to be disturbed. Two gripes: 1.Parking: either $* per day valet parking or park on the street and feed meters, which we did. This fee should be less for stays longer than two days. 2. The "Angel Soft" toilet paper was rough as a badger's behind! Great location, outstanding service, good value. The staff at the hotel were always pleasant and very quick and efficient. The continental breakfast was an added bonus and greatly appreciated. It is only a two storey hotel and perhaps part of the reason why the employees paid so much attention to detail and to the guests. I just adored the way it was decorated. Very cool furnishings. The staff are super professional and the manager Joel Majors is doing a fabulous job! I stayed with my best girlfriend and we did the 2 night stay package where you get to check out the Museum of Art. We had a great time and enjoyed shopping around the Beverly Center. We also drove into Huntington Beach to get some new jewelry at Tommy T's Body Piercing. We had heard a lot about the shop and we were impressed. All in all our vacation was well worth every penny we spent. We would love to stay at the Elan Hotel again! It is a good deal for the location 2 blocks from the Beverly Center. No swimming pool, bar or restaurant, although you can order from diner across the street. We drove to the Farmers Market for meals a few times. Bfast buffet not too exciting, cereal, bagels, juice. The staff was nice, the valet service very fast. We did have to move our room - it got very hot on 2 afternoons so they moved us. There are only 2 floors so it is nice to get in and out to your room. The elevator made a lot of noise. We drove to several studios, up Mullholland, to Hollywood Blvd, and for our four days everything was pretty close. If you want a very high end LA experience, this isn't your hotel. But a good value, clean room and nice staff makes me recommend it. However inside you won't find a friendlier staff anywhere. They answer immediately to whatever need you have. We found the rooms clean and the breakfast terrific. I left some valuable jewelry there - it was still there and sent to me by the manager.
