Our Stay at the Ecoono Lodge in Portland

I would not recommend this place to others. It’s really not worth the price at all. There is a small spa that you’re not going to dare get into once you have a moment take in your surroundings.

The elevator smelled horrendous, and the permit had been expired for 3 years. People had been smoking what ever they wanted inside of the elevator.

Nothing matched within the room. It looked like everything was picked out from random garage sales, and the sofa had some trash hidden in the cushions. I chose to keep my socks or shoes on for my stay in the room because the old carpet had a sticky feel to it and random spots of crusty stuff. There was something that I hope was not diarrhea splashed on 2 of the lamp shades in the room that I hope had nothing to do with the battery found in the sofa. I cannot describe how the room smelled; although, in the morning just before check out, it seemed that a smell like someone in the next room was smoking what I would think crack would smell like.

I was up on the 3rd floor, and all night other people staying at the hotel noisily walked by the room talking about picking up hookers or having hookers come to the hotel. This was not the same person doing this over and over. They stopped doing this at about 4:30am, but then at 6am kids started running all over the place yelling and laughing. Their parents always seeming to be much louder as they unsuccessfully try to make their kids stop. You can hear this going on in a very wide rang of languages. This went on till about an hour before check out.

I will close with the staff. The women in the staff seemed to be friendly and nice with people skills. The male working in the day time had no people skills at all and did not even acknowledge our existence when we tried to talk to him the day before we checked out.

I paid about $55/night for a weekend stay and it was pretty good. The wireless internet was okay. The room was clean and comfortable. Near the airport, not too close to downtown Portland.

PROS: Cheap, clean, internet works well
CONS: Far from downtown

The room was average, the decor was kind of pink and tropical looking. The service was decent. They do have a pool. But I think what I liked most is they had a restraunt and bar in the same lot, conveinance.
