pros: Great place for business or hospital visitor I've been toI recently stayed overnight at this Econo Lodge and found it to be great for overnight stays.
It is a little hard to find but worth the effort.
It does't have a pool but we rarely use one anyway.
We had no problems, but I strongly believe they would have been fixed quickly.
One extra plus was they are one of the very few motels anywhere tha gives a discount for people who are visiting the local hospital for treatment (University of Virginia Hospital)
Staff were the best i've dealt with.

mismatched paint. pubic hair on walls and floor in the bathroom. odd smell. continental breakfast- yeah right! parking is difficult with a longer vehicle too. I've stayed in mom and pop places that were much better for way less.

Price and location.Noisy air

Price and location.Noisy air conditioner and you could hear when guests walk in room above you.“If you are looking for just a place to stop and rest that is convenient, inexpensive and has very few amenities, then this is a good bet. There wasn't enough outlets in the room, so you had to choose to either plug in the small refrigerator or the microwave since the other outlet had the TV plugged in it. We were awakened each morning by heavy walking coming from the room above ours. The complementary breakfast was very sparse. No fruit, cold cereal etc.”

Dirty, noisy floors, too small sheets

1. The tub was dirty. Room not regularly cleaned. Lots of dust on the heating controls.

2. The floors creak so very noisy when the people above you walk.

3. Plumbing noisy so you are awakened when those in rooms near you get up.

4. Sheets on the double beds are twin flat sheets so the bottom sheet comes off. I grew up w/o fitted sheets and know that a standard full flat sheet can be put on as the bottom sheet and will stay. Can't do so with a twin sheet.

5. Stayed for two nights. Absolutely no room service.

The sheets and shower had hairs everywhere. I did not feel clean staying there, and I would not go back again. Terrible experience.

All of the staff was most pleasant always. It is just very old, run down, smells not so great, needs remodeling.“Even on a UVA football weekend, I just can't stomach paying over $100 a night for this hotel. Nice people work there, but it is just way too outdated.”

Conveniently located off 29 N with fairly easy in and out.Paper thin walls and floors - you hear everything around you.“This is an old, dingy, poorly run place strictly for the very budget conscious. It certainly beats sleeping in the car, but it is at the lowest rung of the motel ladder.”

Do Not Stay Here if You're Female

The front desk clerk and owner started joking around with me when I checked in, which was fine, but then the jokes started getting sleazy, and then ended with them telling me to "get in the kitchen and start cooking them some steaks". I stayed about 2 hours and then left, I felt so uncomfortable as a single female travelling alone. I had to drive 45 minutes at 9pm to get to my friend's house and no refund even after complaining to Choice Hotels. Never again!!
