When things go wrong, management gets nasty

The actual stay at the hotel was fine, however an error was made and they billed the wrong Visa check card for the second night. Instead of admitting their error, they made excuses, changed their story and put my checking account into a negative balance for days. Once they realized they billed the wrong card, they neede to cancel the transaction, but instead, they gave me a refund that will take 3-5 business days to process leaving me with no money. They were extremely defensive and kept interrupting me. Very poor customer service. I had to file a complaint against them with the Hilton corporation and the situation has still not been resolved. What really gets me is that when the problem first arose, they discharged the pending transactions on my card, but did not tell me that the atual charge would still go through. If that transaction had been cancelled, the problem would have never escalated into the huge hassle for me it has. After all of this, management has the audacity to have one of their people call me and tell me that they did nothing wrong and I would not be receiving any compensation. That is just not right! I am amazed that the general staff can have such good customer service skills when their management has such poor ones. I hate to give it such a poor rating, considering how nice most of the staff were, but because of accounting and management, it ruined my whole experience. Also, I think people need to know how you are treated when something goes wrong.

I'll never stay there again

While the staff was friendly, they were less than helpful. And our bathroom was NOT clean, there was what appeared to be vomit all over the outside of the toilet bowl. I usually carry my own lysol wipes to hotels just for this reason. I went down to the desk to complain and to ask for extra sheets,( I am still waiting for those sheets by the way), not much was done. Noone showed up to clean the bathroom, I cleaned it myself.
The room was alot smaller than expected and the walls are paper thin! I could hear people laughing and partying until around 4:30 AM when I finally marched over there in my nightgown to ask them to pipe down. So there was not alot of sleeping going on on either side of the wall. Needless to say I and my two kids were tired and pissy all the next day. Thanks alot people.
However, I was delighted by the restaurant I found not far away called
' Old Wives Tale', they actually had gluten free items and dairy free items on thier menu and the food is excellent. We went to the Farmers market and found some really cool items there.
The Lloyd shopping center is right across the street, but it really isn't that impressive either.
Over all I would not stay there again.

A good place. This hotel is across the river from downtown and a 20 minute ride. I had to travel by streetcar (called Tri Met) to downtown. It was free and there was a car every 5-7 minutes, even on the Weekend. Parking was pricy. Nice park across the street and a mall nearby.

Friendly staff.A 'bare bones' room in a setting that has not been updated in years.“While I expected a 3-star hotel, it was a 2-star accommodation at best. The room was adequate, but not spacious. No particularly nice amenities, but it was clean and sage.”

LocationFilthy, Chambermaids do a poor job.“Good location in that it is convenient to highway, airport and downtown. Short drives each. The bed spread had cigarette burns in it. A soda glass from the restaurant sat on top of the TV for the duration of our stay. The room was barely cleaned each day.”

Excellent staff, free travel to points of interest.Had to ask for microwave and fridge. Both were a joke.“No way this is a 3 star. Tiny room, no ventilation in bath, no VCR, robes, little work space, 2 tissues in dispenser, most lamps blown out. Nice Nutragena selection with cotton balls and swabs (that's a new one on me!).”
