The room decor and furnishing was upscale but the air conditioner unit in our room was very noisy. After turning if off I realized if it was not on you could clearly hear the TV and all conversation in the rooms on both sides of us. Then they moved us and it was good.“I went to Charlottesville because my son is at the University of Virginia. The hotel is not particularly close to campus but not difficult with a car. The first night of four they had only a smoking room available which smelled awful and actually irritated my eyes and throat. Then the girl at the desk was able to move us and the non-smoking room was pleasant. The air conditioning got a little over ambitious but we were able to tone it down. Quiet and peaceful. The bartender took new wine glasses out of a cardboard case and started pouring wine in them without even cleaning or rinsing.
