My family has been going to the Dolphin

My family has been going to the Dolphin Beach Club for over 20 years and love it. It is an older place but they have had renovations. It is also small, but I actually prefer that. It is not crowded at the pool or hot tub ever. And the beach is just a few steps away. But if you like fancy places with many activities and very large rooms this is not for you. But if you like quiet, privacy, and simple The Dolphin Beach Club is for you and your family.

One of my favorite vacation spots

I love the dolphin!!!The employees are very nice and helpful,I have never seen one bug in one of those rooms(unless we prop the door open)because every weekend the rooms are sprayed for bugs. The pool is really big and the hot tub is always hot.I also love being able to go into the clubhouse. But my favorite part is the free dough nuts I believe they have them every Wednesday morning.I don't see how anyone couldn't love this place. One thing I almost forgot,if you have a timeshare there you can go back when ever you want to and swim all day.

Worse than a motel

This is the worst place we have ever stayed. The rooms were dirty and infested with mosquitos. The room were for 4 people but did not have sufficient seating for 4, the air conditioning unit was old, dirty and I suspect not safe.

Satisfied Owner

I have been an owner for about 15+ years and I truly can't complain. I have seen the changes they have made over the years. Like other people have said furniture isn't the best (pull out couch is has alway been uncomfortable to sleep on) but what can you expect when you have everything at your fingertips. Staff is excellent, Ray has always been accommodating to your needs. Joyce is missed. The new staff is just as helpful. Think about it, for the yearly cost of maintenance which is around $350 give or take a little, where else can you go for a week and stay at the beach and have a clean pool too. BBQ at your disposal, gorgeous sunrise and you always have the ocean at your back door. I have never had a problem with mold nor have I seen the grounds look bad. I can't think of a better place to be for the price. Become an owner. It's worth the investment. If you don't like it there you can always do an exchange.

Great Place

Enjoyed the place so much, I bought a few weeks 20 years ago. It isn't advertised as a 5 star hotel, so you shouldn't expect a place like that. Located right on the beach, in the middle of all of the Daytona Beach action. Excellent, friendly staff is always willing to help you or repair something that needs fixing.

All rules and hotel policies and hours are in every room, which you are told to read when you get there, so anyone complaining the office closes too early didn't listen to the recommendations.

we will never go back

this resort was a severe dissapointment. it was nothing like the other blue green resorts that we have been to. we were told that the efficiency units were the only units available, when in fact on some nights we were the only people there. the office closed at 4:00 so no one was around to answer questions or help with anything. The stairs to the beach had washed away and had not been repaired. the window in the room leaked when it rained and the carpet was soaked. we wanted to do laundry but were not given the code to the laundry room after the office closed for the night. it was an altogether rotten experience. we left one night early and forfieted our time share points to go to a hotel where we felt safe. the locks on our doors dod not work. the staff were friendly, this was the only positive thing i found here.

what a great place!

I'll be honest. I was very hesitant when I first saw photos of the rooms. But all of my worries were thrown out the window as soon as we checked in. We loved it. So much were are looking into buying our own week. All of the staff was amazing, the fellow guests were a blast, and most importantly my kids had a great time. They made new friends and hung out with the other kids all week. The rooms are not fancy, but staying right on the beach, and having that awesome pool deck was well worth it. I hope to go again next year too.

we've had great stays

We have stayed at the Dolphin 4 dif. times. Each time the staff was wonderfull and very helpful. We have stayed 2 couples in the ocean front rooms and have never had a problem with musty smell or damp air or space. Yes, they are not upscale/fancy, but are clean, probably dated in the 90's decor and are accesiable for what you want to do in Daytona. It's great for race week, taking Dunlawtin over the causeway is great. Several good eating places in the area. We have never had any problems with the the facilities. We have highly recommended it to everyone. We like that it only has 3 levels. The ocean front rooms are so quiet to the streets. We have stayed in those pricey timeshares and haven't been able to sleep because of all the noise off the street and becasue they are so large - the amount of traffic with quest. There, we not only paid for the use of the laundry, but the soaps, too.
Highly recommend the Dolphin!
Only neg. was that it hadn't been vaccumed under the sofa sleeper for quit sometime. But that was the only short coming on housekeeping.
