Stay Away by Matthew B. at InsiderPages

This hotel had one of the lowest prices in the Phoenix area and it delivered just about what I expected. The hotel did not receive my internet booking, but honored my rate (twenty dollars below normal price). I had no problems with safety and there was very little nightime noise. The room did have an awful citrus odor.

I had booked this business travel

I had booked this business travel through online travel website and it made things easy for me, but it seemed to confuse others as I encountered clerks who didn't immediately understand everything was prepaid through online travel website. The hotel clerk never got it right when I checked in, but finally, someone there got it figured out by the next morning when I checked out. The room was nice, fairly clean and had the basics of what I needed. I never could find the light switch for the vanity light, so I shaved in a little less light than I am used to. The bed was comfortable and had plenty of pillows on a king sized bed. There were things to do nearby, plently of restaurants and a $2.75 movie theater. The price was right, but I may try a different hotel next time I'm in town.

The pool was heated.Surrounding area.“It was close to the highway so perfect for driving around town to spring training baseball games. There is a coffee shop, diner, and fast food nearby but the street is very busy so it's a little hard to get to them. The hotel doesn't have an elevator so confirm that the type of room you want is accessible if you can't get everyone in your party upstairs.”

Easy access to I17.Too close to I17, Smell of cigarette, No security, Next to Apt Complex scary.“The room stunk of stale odor, there was no refrigerator as advertised, the room walls were thin so you could hear the people talking next door, there was no internet service so not a good stay for business travelers, there was no security on premises, overall this hotel sucked. Not recommended to anybody. It should not have ever been rated. Its a dump.”

The indoor and outdoor swimming pools

The indoor and outdoor swimming pools and the whirlpool were closed and did not have any water in them. I looked at 2 rooms and both were outdated with very dirty carpets and soiled and stained chairs. The bed was uncomfortable. It was difficult to control the air conditioner and there was the odor of mold from it. There were broken tiles in the bathroom as well as dirty and cracked ceiling panels. Low ceiling in bathroom made it even more uncomfortable. The room looked outdated and in poor shape. The second room smelled clean (the first room smelled like a locker). The bathtub was missing safety tread and it was dangerous to use (very slippery and a person could easily fall in the tub and be seriously injured.) It was very rundown, in very, poor shape.
The housekeeper was pleasant and tried to get a room ready quickly for me. The staff were pleasant.
I will not stay there again even though a housekeeper and the staff were pleasant and made an effort to do their jobs well.
The hotel needs drastic remodeling. The carpets and upholstered chairs need cleaning. There needs to be safety treads in all the bathtubs that do not have it or do not have enough of it. There ought to be safety bar at the bathtub, since there weren'y any handrails at the tub.
I recommend staying in a different hotel. I will not stay there again.

With sleep the main objective, it was tough because the a/c room unit kept recycling on/off.“I won't stay at this day's inn or probably any again. It was a shabby motel, like a motel 6, but not well maintained, looked a little beat up, not so clean. The security card entry into the complex was balky. The freeway noise was welcome white noise, compared to the clattering on/off room unit a/c, which I finally turned off to get some sleep. Thankfully, no odors! Next time, I'll just pay more money because it was just plain depressing.”
