This is a great hotel for those who are on a budget. It is well located to downtown (i.e., easy walk). They have updated a very old hotel to approximate a Hampton Inn type hotel. It has many of the amenities that one would look for such as light self-serve breakfast and toiletries in the rooms. Unfortunately, there is a strong odor in the halls and in the rooms. It seems they are attempting to cover up something with a very strong air freshner because the smell is so strong. In fact, anyone who is allergic to smells would not be able to stay here. When we took showers, the smell was much worst as if the steam brought out the smell even more. Staff worked hard but only one person on desk slowed down service when it was busy. Overall, it is a grea bargain, but would not stay again.

My room was clean, TV worked great. We had coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, hair dryer, iron, tiny workout room, and free breakfast - waffles. One computer available for guest use, did not try it. Not much going on in this area on the weekend.

Don't stay longer than one night

I wouldn't suggest this motel. I have stayed at several different motels and when it comes down to it this one pales in comparison. The motel and the room that I stayed in had a foul smell that could only be coming from the stained unkempt carpet. The phones, the hair dryer, the iron, the ironing board were all dingy and oily and dirty. The microwave and fridge were kind of clean if you like kind of when it comes to your appliances. The door latch broke off after I attached it. The ice bucket had some sort of crumbs in it. The bathroom was ok except for the stains in the toilet and the dirty hand towels and it wasn't your run of the mill "everyone uses it and we wash it after to get the coffee stain out dirt". It was like the maid didn't want to use a paper towel to clean the mirror and used the hand towels to do so. The service was okay depending on what you wanted. If you wanted a cab they would call it for you. If you wanted to know where the modem was so that you could get a signal to connect to the "free internet access" you can forget it. They had an "oh well too bad what do you expect for the price" attitude that I didn't like at all. Free breakfast is continental which is okay, but sour milk isn't and neither is month old bagels. Stick to the bread and microwave it because the toaster is dust filled and it looked like someone might have tried to put wet food in it. Don't bother with the patio since it is not a nice view and not very relaxing with a pool of water sitting under the chairs and tables. All in all if you just want to watch television and then sleep be their guest, but don't eat there, don't bathe there, don't iron your clothes, leave your laptop at home since you can't use it there, don't expect much help unless you want a cab and most importantly DON'T breathe because it stinks everywhere in that motel.

The main reasons I like the Days Inn hotels are that they are everywhere you go, they are usually fair priced and clean and they have lots of extras.

It was an economical, comfortable and clean motel without a lot of extras.
