We loved this place, it was very clean and quite comfortable. The homemade scones and fresh fruit in the AM was big bonus as was the pleasant attitude of the owners. This place is a great deal for any traveler!

My commute time was 6.5 hours (one-way). I stayed 3 nights & visited "Crater Lake" for the 1st time (in a metro w/vehicle problems since day 1 of arrival).

Thank gawd for Snow Plows and ODOT, as I was able to bypass needing traction tires and chains.

If you get stranded or just enjoy visiting different parts of The West, this should be the stay of your choosing.

Just make sure to check weather.com prior to arriving and have AAA Plus Membership.

Update: I eventually ended up 5 hours down the road (over-heating again) and had my car towed home. Dropped off vehicle on Thursday morning, 8am. Vehicle is being worked on until Tuesday-ish. A new (fan) sensor and (2) new wheel bearings are to be installed.

We enjoyed our stay at this b&b. We wanted to explore Crater Lake. This location was convenient. The Innkeepers were helpful and courteous. The food was varied and delicious. The room was clean and included everything we needed.

Owners are very helpful. Location is good. Our Schedule didn't allow for us to eat a meal there. Good price.

The room was in good shape, and everything was in working order. The room appeared to be in a state of remodel and paint cans were under the sink. Not a big deal but the fumes from drying paint gave my family a headache. The Lodge is right across the street from a gas station/truck stop so I heard the semi's pulling in and out all night. My wife did not. If you are a light sleeper this might not be for you. A great value Lodge and a short hop to Crater lake. I am happy with my Trip.

We stayed at Dawson House this summer

We stayed at Dawson House this summer for two nights. The hosts were very nice, the place is clean and decorated with a mixture of antiques, country and mountain pictures, flowers, figurines, clocks etc. The room had a real kitchen, with a full size refrigerator, sink, microwave oven, stove and oven. The bathroom was a little cramped and did not have a sink. The Dawson House also has a bit of interesting history behind it. The only thing I would comment on negatively is that the Dawson House is located right on Route 97. It's not away from the street, so even though there is a nice balcony, your view is basically the highway, and a gas station right across the street. There is also a train station in Chemult, so there is the ocassional train running by. So it's not super quiet, but we slept very well.

This is the first time, I am writing a review. I thought of writing a review, as the stay was so good for the price, and hence wanted to share my experience to all. I stayed with two other friends for a night, and was very satisfied with the following three services a) TV worked great with dish/direct network, and also we could swing the TV, so that it was convenitent to watch from both beds b) the room also had a DVD player, and front desk had movies to choose from c) the morning breakfast was just great. I did not believe that the breakfast would be this good. Hence, I rate this place "OUTSTANDING" in the following areas- service/value and dining. Wish you have a good stay in case you choose this place.

Charming place, but being on a major highway, it was a bit noisy. Also, lack of air conditioning reduced comfort level some what.

The Dawson House Lodge is right on the highway. It is also just across the street from a gas station serving trucks. Our room was on the front of the lodge and therefore extremely noisy. All night long, trucks were braking to enter the truck stop and the traffic noise kept us awake. We left after one night. The room was okay. It was the noise factor which made the place unattractive.
