We stayed in room 302 and we could hear the family in the next adjoining room like they were sitting on our bed. The room was disgusting and the initial smell was quite revolting. The vent in the bathroom was incredibly dusty and the tub was filthy. There was a ring on one corner of the tub where the former patron must have parked their wine glass. The hotel is no longer a Holiday Inn Select, but has converted to a Crowne Plaza. We had a room with a recently renovated bathroom. It was absolutely gorgeous with travertine tile and granite! The new bedding package is equally impressive, very comfortable! The biggest plus for me was the incredible fitness center. I like to workout everyday and this is the best fitness center I have seen in a hotel. I will definitely stay at this hotel again! Barking dogs in the room across the hall. When I complained, I was told this is a pet friendly hotel, and these persons paid $25 extra to bring their pets. I suggested that some floors be desinated for pets and some not, and I was told that all floors are for people with pets and given a very stern look. I did not converse any longer for it was obvious this "suit" did not know how to respond. 2. A.C. was very noisy 3. Closet door was missing 4. Bath towels were stained 5. Carpet was not clean The housekeeping staff was friendly and courteous, but they could not get action from the front desk. This hotel was absolutely everything I had imagined it to be. The Rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly, the breakfast was great. Everything about this place is magnificent. The lobby is beautiful, the pictures here doesn't do justice. Very clean rooms. The bed is to die for. It is more comfortable than our own at home. We would go back just to sleep. It has a pillow top mattress and also another padding on top. Very soft. Great food. It was delivered straight to our room. Nice work out area. No complaints at all. We would absolutely stay there again. Oh, just one thing i want to mention, please bring your own shampoo if you don't like the mint smell. The shampoo/cond. soap smells minty. Not my favorite. The only thing i wondered about was why do they have animal treats for you to give animals free in the lobby, but no mints or anything for guests. I was concered first at the thought of pets in the hotel, but once i got there, there was no problems at all. The beds truly are the best in Baton Rouge and the room was roomy and clean. The bathroom, while a little on the "typical run-of-the-mill" kind, was clean and well stocked. There were plenty of amenities and offerings to suit our needs AND wishes. I truly feel as if I got my money's worth. I'd most definitely stay here again. I refused to stay the night there after checking in. Hotel staff was not helpful. Room had not been cleaned. Housekeeping was called to clean room but never came. Manager then offered me a room he said another traveler had already refused to stay in.
