For people like us who take early morning flights, this place was perfect! The room and bed were comfortable even for large people like us. The hotel was reasonably close to the airport. We will definitely stay here again. It's a great place for a one-night stay. Oh, yes, the last train to go by was at 11 p.m.

This hotel wasn't nearly as convenient

This hotel wasn't nearly as convenient to the airport as we hoped it would be. The Hampton Inn is much better located. The breakfast area was completely blocked off when not serving breakfast, so you can't even get a cup of hot water for tea or sit at the table to wait for someone. We called ahead to say that our flight in was being redirected and we wouldn't get there until 9am. The clerk who answered the phone said she'd make a note on our reservation, and that it would be fine. But she didn't. And the clerk who was there when we arrived wasn't skilled at fixing the situation. It took us about an hour before they gave us a room (after having been involuntarily up all night in an airport fiasco). There was only one person working the desk, so everyone who wanted to check out or do anything else during that one hour also just had to stand around and stare until it became their turn. The bottom sheets did not fit the beds, and the overall sleep experience was frustrating. The airport shuttle worked fine, but do remember to sign up in advance.

We stayed at this hotel to catch a flight the next morning. The hotel was very nice and way cheeper than the other hotels is that area. They have a shuttle that takes you to the airport. It has an indoor swimming pool and sauna. The room was good sized. I loved the free continental breakfast. They even had biscuits and gravy and it tasted awsome!

I stayed at this hotel because they offered a park and fly package. They had 24 hour shuttle service and the staff was wonderful from the moment we stepped into the hotel. We enjoyed the comfortable pillow top mattresses and the expanded breakfast

We visit Portland to see family

We visit Portland to see family annually. Have stayed in other motels near the airport prior to returning to Texas. This time we chose the Comfort Inn and Suites Portland Airport and this will be The Place from now on. Beautifully decorated, extremely clean, gracious, friendly staff. We'll bring our swim suits next year to enjoy the indoor pool that is open 24 hours. Would be nice if there was at least a muffin or cookie to go with the early morning filght departures but the coffee with flavored creams available was great. We will be back in June.

i would definitely stay at this hotel

i would definitely stay at this hotel again, 24 hour pool and hot tub for adults, very close to max station, free airport shuttle service was very nice. the beds are very comfortable and high, and awesome service. the hotel is kept in good shape with clean rooms. love the fact that you can walk less than 4 blocks to ride the max downtown have drinks and dinner and just ride back for under 4 bucks. the rooms also have a coffee pot in the rooms and free coffee all day in the lobby and free wifi. we only stayed at this hotel as apposed to a downtown hotel based on the reviews from this site. plus i didnt feel like putting up with snooty employees at a upper scale hotel. and you cant beat the price. saved us money to dine at more expensive restaurants.

The bedding was a lot nicer than most

The bedding was a lot nicer than most hotels I've stayed at in the lower price ranges. It felt like they had all the basic essentials and then some. The room had a nice layout with a couch, coffee table, desk & chair, TV on 2 drawer dresser, king size bed, and sink outside of bathroom. In the bathroom they had one of those circular shower rods that give you more room. They even had a form to fill out to report if there was anything wrong with the room that had been overlooked by maintenance/housekeeping, on which I reported a lamp not working (burnt light bulb perhaps?) I had a lot of fun in the pool one night (not heated tho), and also the hot tub, which was very close to my room. Breakfast was great. They had make-your-own-waffles, fresh fruit (bananas and apples), various pastries, bagels, cream cheese, yogurt, raisin bread, peanut butter, jelly, milk and cereal, juices, etc. and there was a large mini-fridge (with freezer) and microwave in my room. The staff was pretty friendly too, and they have an airport shuttle. Also you can grab a complementary newspaper from the rack near the breakfast room. They have a computer in the lobby with Internet too which is nice if you aren't bringing your own wi-fi device. Location wise it was close to the Red Line train stop at Parkrose/Sumner, and also close to the #15 bus, not especially close to the action, but pretty decent and public transit is frequent. Overall I liked the place, I would certainly stay again and would stay at other Comfort Inns as well assuming this one is an accurate barometer.

I was on my way back to Hawaii and stayed here because of the reivews......the reviews were RIGHT ON! Everything was more than I expected (believe me, I've stayed in a few Quality Inns that were HORRIBLE, so I expected about the same here. To my plesant surprise, everything was better than I imagined. Room was large with a sofa, bed was high but comfortable, floors were clean and appearance of unit more than satisfactory. Courtesy driver was friendly and helpful, front desk clerk efficient. Breakfast was good.....only wish they had hard boiled eggs in addition to the other goodies. I arrived late and inquired about an eating place---there were three right next door; I chose the steakhouse---good food and good price-with a bar to boot. Area seems safe and that was a concern since I didn't rent a car. VERY good place for a VERY GOOD PRICE!
