You could hear people talking in the next room and you could hear TV in the middle of the night. Even they had put smoking guests in the non smoking rooms that we could smell smoke from the next room. The heater was so noisy and would start every 2 minutes. The blankets were dirty that we just used the sheets instead of blanket.The bath tub was not clean and was clogged. We will never go back to this hotel or the hotels in the same chain. It was very small and felt like a cell. We could hear people talking in the office as well as next door. There weren't enough electrical outlets for all the appliances, lights, etc. The room was hot and we couldn't figure out how to turn the thermostat off. It looked like it was 30 years old. The bathroom was really tiny. The window didn't open and close well. The faucets on the sink leaked and had to be turned very hard to stop the leaking. There was no fan and the room had mold on the wall and window sill. The paint was bubbling on the wall beside the toilet and you couldn't sit straight on the toilet because it was set too close to the wall. It was a HORRIBLE ROOM that should never be used except in an emergency. Moldy bathroom, shower door would not shut, drain cover in shower was not secure so we would look down an old rusty pipe. Carpet felt damp. Would have gone elsewhere, but first time in Monterey so didn't know where to go at 9:00pm. If you need a quick place to sleep and shower and can get past the dingy feeling of the room then it's a good price for Monterey. One plus they do have highspeed internet. Continental breakfast had the worst coffee I had ever had. All the furniture of the room was old dirty. I made reservation from internet and I paid whole money in advance. But they try to extra charge 75$, 15 days later after check-out.
