Excellent hotel on a budget

My husband and I travel to Madison Square Garden every year for the Big East Basketball Tournament. We're never in our rooms so need no amenities. Hotels nearer the Garden are over-priced and dirty. This Comfort Inn is a short walk away and was perfect. We used our AAA discount to get a very good rate. The front desk staff was very friendly. Our room was ready early in the morning of our arrival so the staff let us check in early. The room was small, but large enough for a small table and 2 chairs. It was fairly quiet, too. The heat was very low, but we kept the room darkening shades closed to keep out cold air from outside. The weather outside was 50 degrees; if it had been a cold snap, the room may have been uncomfortably cold. As with all Comfort Inns, breakfast was included, which helps with the budget, too. We found the location great for our travels, too, with its close proximity to subway stops. I recommend this hotel highly if you're looking for a good quality bargain.

We have been staying at this hotel

We have been staying at this hotel regularly for the last 6 years, probably three to four times per year. The staff is just wonderful, very accommodating and personable. The rooms are clean and spacious and the breakfast, delicious! And for a midtown Manhattan hotel, the prices are very reasonable. I would recommend this hotel each and every time, hands down!
We are moving to the midwest, so won't have the opportunity to visit often anymore, but I HAD to spread the word. This Comfort Inn is at the TOP of our list!

This was a delightful one night stay at the Comfort Inn Manhattan hotel. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the room for a budget priced hotel in New York City. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The location was very convenient to Madison Square Garden, Penn Station, Macy's and about a fifteen minutes walk to the Times Square area. When my roommate checked in they put her in a smoking room although I had requested a non smoking room. They immediately rectified the situation. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a New York City stay. I will definitely stay here again if I have an event to attend at Madison Square Garden.

I was surprised that the Comfort Inn chain had renovated an historic hotel building. This was an affordable hotel, but much nicer than some competitors where I stayed a few months ago. It was very convenient to Times Square and the Macy's subway station. However, taxi rides were difficult to catch that week for some reason.

My kids/grandkids and I went to NYC for

My kids/grandkids and I went to NYC for my 50th Birthday.. reserved hotel on online travel website. $* A NITE Got to hotel, checked in and went to room.. it was a "SMOKING" room, with 1 DOUBLE bed..I had reserved a NON-SMOKING with a Queen bed.. went downstairs to tell the front desk and the guy started arguing with me that I had reserved a SMOKING Double room.. I explained to him that I had asthma and he could tell that I had a hard time breathing and my eyes were watering and I had to go get a glass of water... I asked again to be moved to a non-smoking room.. and I hadn't printed up a copy of my online travel website receipt.. which was a HUGE mistake.. He said they didn't have any more rooms available.. so.. my kids and I went out into the City and came back around 1130 pm and there was a group of about 30 elderly folks checking in and they were getting non-smoking rooms & some smokers so they got smoking rooms.. but I couldn't breathe and ended up sleeping in the HALLWAY WITH MY PILLOWS AND BLANKET cuz I couldn't breathe and they REFUSED to move us to a non-smoking room on Sat so again.. I had to sleep in the hall/stairwell so I could breathe.. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE, wall paper in bathroom was falling off the wall, and mildew in shower

The service was fine, though the location was crowded. The beds were comfortable and I slept well. My advice is to schedule an early check-in and make sure your rooms will be ready on arrival.

It was centrally located to where I wanted to go and do things. It was clean and the breakfast food selections were very good. The bar was nice. The only complaint was that there was no bell service available to help with luggage on departure from the facility, causing a delay for all in the party.

They had great location and price for our trip. It was within walking distance to places we wanted to go and it was also located to several subway stations for easy travel to attractions farther away.
