Nice hotel with good value

The hotel front desk is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is really good, location is alright. We didn't get the room with the best view at all, but inside is clean and the A/C worked well with very little noise. Parking is not a problem.

Very disappointed to be an employee

Very disappointed to be an employee with choice hotels and have this hotel part of the chain. POOR MANAGEMENT, Checked in to find room occupied and had to get a king room instead of two doubles that was reserved, but I was not the only guest that night with major problems . Front desk not trained properly as they did not know what to do or what was going on. I only blame the GM as this is his/her job to train staff properly or work the front desk. Management company that runs hotels should be ashamed. If you are going to direct customers to park under freeway ramps get them lighted so they are somewhat safe. Only good thing was I was only staying for 1 night and I received an employee rate as this was all the hotel was worth. I feel bad for the customers that were paying alot more for a room. Iam sorry I have to complain as an associate of another independently owned choice hotel but feel I have to voice my opinion.

This was THE worst hotel that I have

This was THE worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. From the moment that we arrived, We knew that this was going to be a bad experience. The hotel lobby reeked of sewage or urine. The place appeared run down and dirty. There is no microwave or refridge. The hotel staff was very lax in their greeting. The elevators are slow and were also very dirty and smelled. The hotel was located in a terrible location. There was limited parking and the surrounding area was very unsafe. This was an awful place to stay. Also, very hard to find...and if you are lost...it is very unsafe. This was a hell hole. Never again...Spend more money and stay in the historic district.

Did not mind it at all.

My husband and I were here for a week and I was very worried about the reviews I read. When we got to the parking lot I felt better because the place was packed.

Breakfast consisted of:
Fruit Danishes, toast, bagels with cream cheese or jams, peanut butter. Assorted muffins.

Pancakes batter was there we had to pour it ourselves in pancake maker this took 2 minutes.

Fresh fruit: Bananas, apples, oranges, strawberries and a fruit salad.
Different kind of yogourts.

Hot and cold cereal with 3 different kinds of milk.

Hot chocolate, coffee, tea, orange and fruit juices.

A complimentary newspaper we got every morning and there was a computer in the lobby free of charge to check your e-mail.etc.

The rooms were very clean everyday and the staff was very accomodating. We did not have any problems with the shower or bath.

This hotel is in downtown Charleston however, if you wanat to get to the Historical Section it was about an 1/2 hour good walk. We felt very safe walking back and forth. At was fun we got to explore a different road everyday to get to the historical section. You need good walking shoes and be in pretty good shape to walk there.

This hotel is not really for kids there is no playground nearby. We did not see very many kids in Charleston either.

I did not mind the hotel at all we had plenty of everything and it was very clean.
The staff was very friendly.

I would go there again.

I called and the lady told me that we had been over charged she saw the problem and said our money would be back on our card within seven working days and guess what! It hasn't been returned.

dont go

When I got to the hotel it looked 'ok' but when I checked into my room...they gave me 2 double beds instead of 2 queens which I booked..I didn't complain about that but 2 days into my vacation one of the employees knocked on my door at 10:30 am and asked if I was checking out that day...I arrived on Dec 28 and was checking out on Jan 4...I told her I still have 6 days left...so 10 mins. later the front desk calls up , they were a little rude ,and said I HAD to move right then... I asked if I could move later because I was sleeping but they said I should move right then..so I moved to a different room which had stains on the comforter...and so they moved me to a different room on a different floor and the same thing happened again...though the Maintenance man , Troy Alexander, was very nice about everything and help me a lot ..so after all that the parking was bad also...you had to park under a bridge because they didn't have enough spaces for everyone. I work at a choice hotel in PA and I called and asked my manager to switch my room to the Sleep Inn were my friends were staying at but she wasn't able to so I just stayed there for the rest of my stay.

I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel to anyone..though I would recommend the Sleep Inn right on the Savanna Highway to anyone...everyone was very friendly and the rooms are much nicer
