We stayed here in December. It was perfect! The staff was the best and were so helpful! Would stay here every time. Great location and great accommodations!
We has put on our reservation that we were celebrating the fact we were expecting our first baby and anniversary. We had a miscarriage two weeks before so when they said "congrats" we told them thanks and that we lost the baby. They really went above and beyond to make sure our trip was restful and allowed us to recoup from the heartbreaking weeks prior. Can't say it enough, the wonderful hotel made it a great rejuvenating trip. Loved it!!

We stayed in January 2009. The newly renovated decor is very trendy- lime green and turquoise beach bubble theme. Our one-year-old loved a stuffed gorilla toy in the lobby. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Soaps and lotions smell really good. Staff was willing to help with any problems immediately. They were the nicest and most friendly hotel staff I've ever met. We had some small problems that were addressed by the staff. The fridge had a bad odor, and there was a small power outage which we don't know if it was the hotel's fault.
Be aware that parking is an additional $22 per day and is valet, so plan to tip. Parking is in a secure under hotel garage. The pool is small and was ice cold. We tried to swim anyway hoping to get used to it but had to get out when our teeth chattered.Hotel is located about 3 blocks from Waikiki beach and it is easy to walk. It's also near some high-end shops like Juicy Couture and Louis Vuitton. Make sure you have good directions if you're arriving at night. Street signs are hard to read in the dark, and the driveway is immediately on the left after the turn- so it's easy to miss.We loved this hotel. It's really more than we expected from a Best Western. We would definately stay there again.

The Hotel Was Excellent We Loved It. The Management And Staff Were Friendly. They Treated Us Like Family They Really Took Good Care Of My Wife And I.

The Hotel Is Under Renovation And We Ended Up In One Of The Renovated Rooms. It Was Wonderful Well Worth The Money We Paid. The Continental Breakfast Was Great. The View We Had Of The Canal Was Good We Just Enjoyed Ourself Tremendously. After Our First Day Visit To The North Shore Side Of Oahu We Turned Our Rental Car In. We Could Do Everything Else We Needed Without A Car. This Was Our 30th Wedding Anniversary And This Hotel Made It A Very Special Time For Us

We Highly Recommend This Hotel And Will Certainly Tell Others About It. We Give It 4 Point 9 Stars

After staying the previous week at the more pricier Hilton Prince Kuhio, my husband and I decided to spontaneously extend our vacation for another week but had no pending reservations. After anxiously locating the Aqua Coconut Waikiki Hotel on the internet and viewing the photos and reading the great reviews, I thought "what do we have to lose". We were totally impressed, especially my husband. He stated that he liked this hotel more than the pricey Hilton. They have everything to offer that a more expensive hotel has, such as, a Concierge, laundry room, pool, free continental breakfast, business center, etc. The rooms were recently renovated (totally gutted), replace with a more european style decor with its sleek designs and contemporary colors. A convenient modern kitchenette w/stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and kitchenwatre, makes this hotel rooms totally turn-key. The bathroom is small, but is very functional. We enjoyed the 42" Flat Panel Television with loads of cable channels, free wireless internet and a lovely city view. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even with my grumpy husband who's bound to find something wrong with everything (when he couldn't find the ice machine). The only complaint I have is that the room I'm in doesn't have a computer desk for our laptop. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Honolulu without second thoughts. We couldn't wait to check out before I wrote my review, which is why I'm still sitting here in my room in sunny Waikiki, We highly recommend the Aqua Coconut Waikiki.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpfull. However they advertise that they have free high speed internet in the rooms which is not the case. They have it in the lobby which i feel is too public. On the bright side the price was very good and the rooms are the cleanest I have ever stayed in.

While most of the island of Oahu is beautiful countryside surrounded by pristine beaches, there is that one section that makes you wonder if you are in Hawaii or New York City. Waikiki, clearly identifiable from the air as you approach the island, is filled with huge skyscraper hotels and most of the shopping complexes on the island. While Waikiki is the main tourist destination on the island, many people will find that staying in this area can be very costly. The average hotel stay is between $150-$200 a night and that is just for a city view. I was on a mission to find a cheap hotel in the center of all the action. I was beginning to get discouraged until I found the Aqua Coconut Plaza Hotel. The hotel is located about four blocks from downtown Waikiki with an average room rate of $80 a night. Although the pictures of the hotel looked pleasant enough, I still had no idea what to expect until I arrived. I pulled up to the front entrance which has a horseshoe driveway where valet attendants were waiting since there are no self-parking areas. The valet charge is $18 a day which is average and in some cases far cheaper than the name brand hotels in the area. (Marriott charges $25 a day.) The hotel staff was very friendly and the lobby was clean with that Hawaiian tropical feel. While the experience so far has been satisfactory, I still had not seen the condition of the room. As we entered our room on the sixth floor and expecting to find the Motel 6, I was pleasantly surprised to find the room neat and clean. The room had a king bed with a stove, small refrigerator, and microwave. There was also an in-room safe that is free of charge as well as Cable TV. We walked outside on the balcony and although we did not have an ocean view, we did have a beautiful view of the Ala Wai Canal. There is an outdoor pool on site, but with the beaches of Waikiki only four blocks away, I did not even bother to test it out. You can have a great continental breakfast every morning in the lobby while enjoying your complimentary newspaper. For those who decide to bring their laptops with them, there is free Wi-Fi or you can pay a nominal fee and use their internet in the lobby. The greatest aspect about this hotel is definitely the location. The beaches are located four blocks away with many different restaurants in the area. There are also a number of different shopping districts where locals sell unique Hawaiian items such as hand-carved Tiki statues and Ukuleles. There is also a golf course located across the canal for those who love to hit the white ball. For $80 a night, this was a fabulous hotel for a budget price located in the heart of Waikiki. Discounts are also available for military and AAA members.

Stayed here 3 times. First time the room was decent. With the exception of some holes in the curtains and blankets, everything else was ok. Staffs were excellent. Second time seems ok also with the exception that the room seems smaller. Third time was bad: shower light bulb was out in bath room for the two days I was there; toilet never got scrubbed; desk lamp has to be wiggled to make it work; curtains looks like swiss cheese. King size bed was actually two twins put together so you can feel the ridge right in the middle; AC was so noisy that I can still hear it with my ear plugs on; and the street noise was pretty noticeable even with my ear plugs on.
