There are unique lofts available with spiral staircases; complimentary wine and bourbon on the bar downstairs; lots of framed art (not my style, but Southerners love the pretension, and I just go with it). Overall, it’s interesting. I do dig the lion's head fountain in the lobby-- mainly for the pattering water sound when you leave your room. Continental breakfast delivered to your room. There are fun restaurants/shops nearby. It’s within walking distance of USC's campus. It’s probably a popular spot for Gamecock fans during football season. The internet access here is intermittent, the hot tub is and will stay broken, the loft rooms are hot upstairs and freezing downstairs, the bathroom tubs do not drain, I had water around my ankles, stiff towels/sheets, and many burnt out light bulbs. The walls have considerable water damage and peeling wallpaper. Not all of the rooms have fridges and/or microwaves. They have turn down service, but only if you ask for it. The staff argues with you if you ask for any kind of repair. The manager tries, but says that his hands are tied by the corporate owner. Also he had never heard of the Colonial Center. Then he guessed that it was at least 5 miles from the hotel.
