Best hotel in town

I stayed at the formerly Holiday Inn, now Clarion Inn and it was the best stay I ever had, the staff was unbelievable and willing to help us with whatever we needed. They have a new menu in the restaurant and the food was incredible, it is an italian menu. The beds were very comfortable and I will definately stay again

Never again...seriously

Sorry, this was the first family visit to the Holiday Inn in Grand Forks and it is the LAST. The room was poorly kept, mattresses were rock hard and the bathroom had rust and mold covering the ceiling tiles. Funny thing was they painted over the problem... not fixing it. Water stains and a rotting door way were easliy noted not to mention the giant water spot back of the doorway in the carpet.

The best part of the stay checking out and the mere $25.00 credit for our inconvienience.

Not Bad...Not Great

Stayed 4 days in July 2008. Mattresses on the beds were terrible...absolutely no support...felt like you were sinking to the ground. Hair from previos guests in bathroom on floor and wall. Carpet stained. Toilet not working properly. Advertised " new continental breakfast "...better rethink that. Toasters would not work properly. Microwaves to heat up the frozen egg omlettes had little power...set up on small cramped counter with no room to manouver...guests cramped together bumping into one another...terrible...obviously not well thought out. Waterpark great for the kids however the staff sitting at the waterslide might as well as not be there...very unfriendly towards the kids often looking quite disgusted to be there. Likely will not go back.

Very Poor Customer Service

I personally booked 10 rooms in June 2007 for my upcoming wedding. When June of 2008 rolled around and our wedding guests started calling to make reservations the hotel staff did not have our information saved and did not offer any help to our wedding guests. They said that they had never heard of us before. When I heard of this and called the Holidy Inn myself I was transfered to the sales department. They repeatedly told me that they were "looking" for my information and that they would get right back to me. They NEVER called. I called on 3 separate occasions and did not hear back from them. My fiance tried calling twice and had no response or help offered as well. I will never put my trust in this hotel or staff again.

Good service, but that's about it.

We used hotwire to book this hotel and I was not thrilled with it. We got a non-smoking room with 2 queen beds, very comfy. But when we walked in the room it was so stuffy in there so I rushed to open a window and to my dismay I found that we were stuck in a room that overlooked the hallway to the pool, so therefore there was no window for fresh air. The fan did rotate but it didn't do much more. I'm one of those people that requires fresh air. Had I known that would happen I would have asked for a window to the outside world, but how was I to know? There was also a light from the window that shone in our window the whole night, the room darkening curtains didn't close and it was just a set of sheers to try and stop this light. But the room was clean, the shower was nice, and the TV worked. Oh yeah, one more thing, the smell of cigarette smoke was whafting in from somewhere...probably the fan.

Loved the waterpark - will recommend

Loved the waterpark and access to sporting events and shopping. Kids loved the waterpark, which made mom and dad happy too. Good food, clean rooms and a satisfactory rate made for an overall good stay.

the pool and splash park were great for the kids. the hot tub was also really nice. the lounge area around the pool was a bonus too, as we had a large group staying together. the restaurant food and service were both completely unremarkable but at least the kids eat free. our room was clean and fairly recently upgraded. overall, a good value for the price we paid.

It was disappointing

The water slide "park" is grossly misrepresented in the ads. Would only be appropriate for under 4 years old.
Rooms smell of stale smoke.
Hotel under needed renovation. Price too high for shabby condition.

The waterpark was great for kids, the restaurant was passible and the room was clean and spacious....if only there was a door! We have three young kids so we always stay at hotels with suites for privacy and comfort...this would have been an excellent hotel IF the bedroom had a door.
