The Honest Truth

This hotel was horrible. Where do I start... Parking? bring your cooler because you'll end up in the back fourty unless you are incredible lucky. The 1 hour magic show ... more like 50 minutes but you still pay for an hour. Concessions at the outdoor part, slow..slow..slow..slow and did I say SLOW! Room not bad but horribly dirty. Carpet stained really bad and stove dirty but other than that, ok. Wave pool, what a joke - 3' deep. It is not wave pool like nearly everyone is used to ... for little kids only. The best bar area is by the wave pool though and Shannon, was great! Perhaps the worst is check in. They are not organized, even slower than the outdoor pool concession and people were bitching about room screw ups while we checked in. Finally, even though this park is only a few miles out of the Dells, it seems like it is in Minnesota because there is absolutely nothing around it. Wow, I feel better about getting this off my chest. We will never stay at this resort again. We are going back to one of the more established places in the Dells.

I really enjoy the dells and I loved the Chula Vista. The indoor waterpark is great and the staff there is very kind and helpful. We stay at the dells ever year and the Chula Vista was the best. The only probelm was that it was a long walk from the

Huge indoor water park. Toddler loved it. Adults even enjoyed it. Pina coladas were good too.

The waterpark was nice.

The appeal of the resort was the waterpark, there were plenty of things to do there. I thought the distance from the rooms to the waterpark was excessive. The hotel was not layed out proper, the trip to the park from the 5th floor where our room was located entailed an elevator down one floor, a walk across the hotel to the only elevator to the underground passage. This trip could take up to 20 minutes due to elevator occupancy and the lack of elevators. With small children, stairs are difficult.

The hotel room was not completely clean, there was a dirty washcloth over the shower head, trash along the bed, and a pair of soiled briefs.

I had ordered pizza from the hotel's Luigi's Pizza, it was delivered cold 2 hours after the order was placed, it was supposed to be delivered in 45 minutes. The crab buffet food was delicious but there were not enough cracking utensils to open the crab. After our stay had concluded, there were not enough carts in order to transport our luggage to our vehicle. The wait for a cart was almost an hour. The mass of people standing at the main entrance pestering other guests for their cart was aggravating.

Can't wait to come back!

We wanted a girls weekend. 4 adults and 3 teenagers (all girls) stayed over night in one of their Family suites in the main hotel. It was wonderful! When we got in and figured out sleeping arraingements we checked to make sure that we had bedding for the sleeper sofa-there was. Thinking ahead helped out avoiding alot of hassle! We just wanted to make sure we didn't have to wait for it when we were putting the girls down for the night.
Check in was easy and pleasant. I've found that if you start out with a smile on your own face that -even if- the person behind the counter is having a bad day, they will smile back and be more helpful than if you are rude and demanding from the start.

The kids loved the bigger rides while the more timid adults went for the "kiddie" slides under the 90gal dump bucket. The water was heated but still cool-like most indoor swimming pools. Loved the multi open lockers they have-we could leave and comeback after dinner and have the same locker. We loved the arcade-small but so much fun. I think we won over 1000 tickets and had a blast! We couldn't have a quiet conbersation with the kids screaming/ the musice playing/ and the roller coaster going-but if we wanted quiet conversation we would go to a library, not a waterpark.

We knew going in that since this is a tourist town and a resort that the prices are going to be higher-not as high as Orlando or Vegas people! We are frugal and so we brought crock pots and used the fridge and microwave for our meals.

There is NO reason not to have fun in this place unless you think that you are staying in the Bellagio penthouse suites for Chula Vista prices. If you are not going to enjoy the water park, you can take a walk and see the breathtaking views of the woods and river and bluffs.

We will be back. Haven't had this much fun in years.

overpriced and bad service

If you'd like to pay outrageous prices for less than average service (it's like paying designer prices for WalMart brand)-then this resort is for you.
Nobody seems to be very helpful, instead you'll get the whole lot of snobby attitude. Spa prices are rediculous-less than average manicure is 45.00!!!! The manicurist looked like she had a night of heavy drinking before she came to work, did horrible job on my nails for outrageous price (my 12 year old niece would do better), had disgusting dirty hair and kept talking stupid (like telling me about her sister's bad toes and how she got a surgery). it was MY BIRTHDAY, the last thing I wanted to have on my birthday is listening about other people's surgery .
At the spa they also ask you to fill out ridiculous form that says that if you accidently die from something that was caused by the employee of the spa-thay ARE NOT LIABLE. yes, it says exactly like this: whatever they do to you at the spa, you are doing it at your own risk, and whatever happens they are not liable if you are injured or dead, EVEN if it was done by their employees!!! this was the most NOT customer friendly place for the money I have even been to.
We spent a little over a 1000 bucks in two days as it was a birthday present from my husband, and I wish i never left Chicago for that money. Customer service sucks big time. My husband ordered room with jackuzzi-the one only rooms with jacuzzi were two bedroom condos. We did not need two BR, as it was only three of us, but we got it because of jacuzzi. when we tried to turn on the jacuzzi all the black dirt, chunks of black dirt streamed into the tub. I had to grab the baby and get out of there. It was disgusting and our "romantic" family get away was completely ruined.
The whole staff looked tired and indifferent. nobody was rushing to help, unless you sit and look around and then go searching for someone.
In their buffet "all you can eat crab legs": on Sunday night they were serving yesterdays legs-they tasted not fresh and watery. And that's again, for the same money they charged us last night.
Do not waste your money on that horrible place. there are much better places even in Wisconsin Dells

Will not return

We stayed in a golf villa. The place was nice and clean. Other than that it was a bad experience. The service is absolutely horrible. We asked for an extended check from 10:30 to 11:30. We called the night before checking out and again in the morning to confirm (no problem). We left to play golf early in the morning, packing up most everything except for the food and some clothing items. When we returned at 11:10 the food was gone as well as the more expensive clothing items. I found housekeeping and they said they were not informed of the early checkout and the food had been thrown out and the clothes were still in the room. I happened to look in the attendants cart and there were the Abercrombie shorts and flip flops. I went to the front desk and was told rather flippantly that they had no way of telling if we asked for a late checkout and said to come back and talk to Housekeeping manager. We did and he was not much help. He said he would have a manager contact us b/c they wer in meetings at the time. It has been one week and no one has contacted us.
