Changed price on me when arrived

Hotel in decent location, Rooms do not have free wireless, can hear your neighbors, thin walls, and the most disappointing thing was that the price changed from when i called to when I arrived. I was quoted $295 (I thought she said $235)and when I got there they charged me over $400 with tax.
BE AWARE,

The Chelsea Savoy is a fantastic place to stay in New York! The neighborhood is fantastic and where else can you find the heritage that the Savoy has to offer?

The Chelsea Savoy hotel is located in

The Chelsea Savoy hotel is located in the heart of Chelsea so you can't go wrong already. The hotel is modestly adorned and comfortable without being too beautiful. The rates are really good for Manhattan prices so it's a highly recommended place to stay if you'd prefer to spend your money outside the hotel (where there is plenty to spend it on). I have no complaints - customer service is nice, the place is a pretty enjoyable and comfortable place to stay.

Chelsea Hotel Rocks!

I stayed here with five other girls for a friend's bachelorette party in NYC. We booked a suite with three beds - two kings and one single with a pull out trundle bed. So we all had enouch room to sleep. There was a small kitchenette that was helpful. We didn't use the TV.

Basically, the reason to stay here, other than the value, is b/c of the hotel's history and importance to NYC culture. It's just a famous hotel that has had many famous guests - and tenants , as some people live inside the hotel. It's a real slice of NYC that shouldn't be missed.

I would say that younger people, people on the artsy side of life and people looking for a rather unusual lodging option would be happiest here.

good hotel by jill n. at InsiderPages

I stayed here often during business trips. It's a basic no-frills value hotel, and the staff is competent. Rooms are clean. Bedding is typically institutional, but the pillows are adequate despite that. The key, as the review says, is that this is right on the west-side subway line and there's great stuff all around the hotel
Excellent location! Great nearby restaurants. No fitness room though and the sheets are oh so itchy. A little fabric softener would go a long way. The rooms are very clean though, which is always appreciated.

CONVENIENT, CLEAN AND RELIABLE

pros: Convenience, Clean, ValueI have stayed at the Chelsea Savoy numerous times. As a former New Yorker, I am very "picky" when it comes to staying at hotels. On the "numerous" occasions, I have stayed at the Savoy, my stay has been most pleasant. The rooms are decent in size, but most of all, they are clean. Room service is reliable and there is always someone at the front desk to answer your calls and accomodate the guest. Additionally, if there is ever a problem in the room, they take care of it. I highly recommend looking into the Chelsea Savoy if you are looking for a place to stay in the Chelsea area.

For a boutique-sized hotel in

For a boutique-sized hotel in Manhattan, the Chelsea Savoy Hotel is priced reasonably (starting at $100) and in a good neighborhood. All of the amenities are available, staff is friendly, and the rooms are a good size and clean.
