Great Stay

Overall the hotel was great! 3 adults slept comfortable in a huge king sized bed even though there was a day bed in the other room. The only thing, it had kind of a spooky feeling, but you can tell that the hotel is old. Other than that it was fine. We had valet parking $28 a day, which we didn't even need the car during our stay because it may be about 3 blocks from Bourbon St. and right down the sidewalk was Canal St. It is in the perfect location if you're in New Orleans to party and know that you are going to be drunk. I'd say go for it. I would definitely stay there again despite the spooky feeling, but after a few hand grenades you won't even notice.

worst service I've ever experienced!! incompetent staff!! specially a girl called Solita.
Wireless internet did not work at all but still they made us pay for it.
At last a Lap top was stollen from our room and no one took responsibility! We tryed to contact the manager, but she was not in town. To date this problem was not solved!

DONT STAY HERE!!!

To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to inform you that Chateau Dupre was the worst hotel I ever stayed at. The employees had NO professionalism nor any business ethics. You guys should be embrassed to considered Chateau Dupre one of "New Orleans Fine Hotels". The concierges (Solita and some spanish lady) were disrespectful and even called my room threatening me. Is this the way New Orleans would like to be known as "Ghetto"? Even a one star hotels in New York treat their guest like human beings and not as animals. I am highly insulted and I feel that I got ripped-off from my money. The pictures on the internet don't even compare to what we had. I felt like I was staying at a dirty motel-8. I will be sure that my experience will be spread all over the internet, so other people will not experience what I experienced.
Regards,
Frustrated Guest.

still horrible

The location was good, French Quarter, walking distance to everything. But that is the ONLY positive about the whole place.(with the exception of the staff, who were nice). We Hotwired it, and they definitely lied re. "3 star". The first room we got was adjacent to the front desk..in the Lobby! the carpet was wet...it smelled musty and there was no clock, no windows. They "upgraded us" to a "suite". It did have an extra room...replete with a couch even a fraternity house would reject. We had to purchase earplugs to sleep in in the morning as the garbage pick up occurred daily starting at 4:30 am...then just as you'd drift off...at 6 am the cabbies at the cabstand under the window would start yapping. As the French Quarter was not hit by Katrina, they cannot blame the appearance on that. It looked like they last updated in the 60's. And even then it was a poor job.

It's absolutely fantastic!

During our recent stay, we were very pleased with the location and access to all of the sights that we wanted to see! The room was very neat and pretty. We loved the way they had the brick wall and the beams, it was beautiful. We hope to make another trip down and bring my husband and let him see things of this nature.

I work in the French Quarter and walked

I work in the French Quarter and walked by the hotel yesterday. There's a sign on the door stating the hotel is closed and guests are being booked at the French Market Inn. Better call the hotel directly before booking.

We had to move to another

We had to move to another hotel--bathroom dirty, television broke, cigarette holes in sheets, closet door broke, inroom safe broke, sofa broke, plate where door lock goes into wall completely missing and hollowed out, no one in lobby & lobby unsecured after we checked in--so we found another hotel & checked out. Very Scary!!

Never Again

No staff at front desk, when you arrive they will send someone from one of their other properties, same deal at check out. No coffee in rooms, actually no regular coffee just de-caf. No wake-up calls, no "Do Not Disturb" sign for door which means you may have a maid banging on your door at 8AM. No valet service, no parking, the promised 12 noon checkout was really 11 AM, no ice machine, no drink machines. These are all just details, the worst part is the staff attitude of "if you don't like it go somewhere else!" Thank you for the advice, next time I will.

Enjoyed my stay

I reserved a room for myself and husband. This is not a bad place especially if you like the HOB. When I travel to New Orleans it is for the party and shopping. I only go the the hotel to sleep and rest. As long as it has a bed and shower it is fine with me. The price is right and I had no problem with my room with the exception of garbage trucks waking me up the next morning very early. Hotel room was very clean and I had no problem checking in or out. I will stay there again because of location and price. It is old but remember you get what you pay for.
