Poor service

pros: Nice roomsWe planned an event at Hayden's and reserved a block of rooms for the guests to stay if they would like. We had been told 2 months prior that all of the rooms would be together and above the banquet room. This was in hopes of not disturbing any of the other guests. This did not happen. Our rooms were spread all over the 2nd floor and they attempted to put a couple on the 3rd floor. There were no rooms taken on the 3rd floor. There were barely any other guests at all, if there were any. I didn't see any. Not impressed, will not do a function there again! There wasn't even an entry to Hayden's from the hotel, we had to run outside in the wind and rain.

My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night. It's really the best option in this area. It's a neat setting if you get a room on the duck pond side. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean!

Unworthy of Location!

This was not what we expected. Hayden's is fabulous and we expected the same at the Century Hotel. Imagine our surprise when in January 2008 the Hotel was nearly deserted and the front desk clerk appeared to be annoyed that we were interrupting her. Then we observed unseemly characters (2 males) without luggage walk in and proceed through lobby and up to elevators. They were not guests of the Hotel, it was obvious they were guests of guests and the party went on until after 2:30 in the morning. We had thought it was Hayden's, and were very disappointed the next morning when we spoke with Hayden's staff at breakfast and found out Hayden's music had ended HOURS before the raucous party that we had blamed on Hayden's. In addition to the bad "showing" the Hotel made with staff and guests, they were deficient in the cleanliness and upkeep department. The bath/shower unit had black mold/mildew around the edges, one of the two bath towels (could they have sprung for a third set?) had a large, unmistakable tear and the room needed a good dusting and wall cleaning. Poorest showing I have seen in years in any hotel. Poorest showing I have seen in years in any hotel. It is unfortunate that the location is good, the competition nearly non-existent in Tualatin and nearby Sherwood, but the company is not showing the character that it represents from the outside and in brochures and website.

We've had several out of state

We've had several out of state employees stay here and have all really liked it. Part of the hotel faces a man-made lake which makes for a very peaceful setting. There are also other restaurants and shops that are in walking distance for the guests. There is also a restaurant downstairs in the hotel that has really good food and the bar has live music on the weekends.

PROS: Shops & restaurants in walking distance, peaceful setting

PRICE FOR WHAT YOU GET IS AVERAGE FOR THE AREA AND THE HOTEL IS RIGHT OFF THE MAN MADE LAKE..IT EVEN HAS A VERY NICE RESTRAUNT NEXT DOOR WHICH IS WONDERFUL!..I HAVE LIVED IN THE AREA MY WHOLE LIFE AND THIS IS MY FAVORITE PLACE FOR MY COMPANY TO STAY!

PROS: WONDERFUL PLACE AND CLOSE TO EVERYTHING!

Great Place to Stay

pros: contentious staff, jacuzzi rooms, breakfast includedMy husband and I booked a 60th anniversary party there.....many room reservations, lots of confusion and still the staff at Century Hotel bent over backwards to make everyone happy...and I mean EVERYONE! Even the crancky old aunt who has a talent for insulting anyone in the service industry with her numerous requests!

This is no chain hotel.Owner owned and operated, which is evident from the moment you walk in the door. These people take pride in offering you first class accomodations.

While there....stop in at Hayden's Lakefront Grill....one of the best restaurants in Portland!!
