We always stay here, it has a complete kitchen with utensils and a room with a little living room. The only thing about this place is that it needs a makeover. A little scary to walk around by yourself.

Compassionate Service

Being an RCI timeshare member I was able to book a room for a young Christian family of 3 whose wife is struggling with breast cancer. She was going to a clinic about three miles from this resort which made it very convenient. The father and the 8 year old son, Ezekial, raved about the area and how it was family oriented. They spent a lot of time along the river with all the activities while mom was receiving treatment. They needed a room with a full kitchen because part of the treatment the mother was going through required a special diet. They stated the hotel was older but they did not care because it fit the bill perfectly for them. One of the service members, Jeff, from Celebrity Resorts, then worked with them and gave them a tremendous rate so they could stay an additional 2 weeks. They anticipated paying $100.00 to $150.00 a night during their stay and this was not possible on a school teachers salary. I believe this whole stay was God driven and they were blessed beyond their highest imagination. Jeff was wonderful and I do thank him for the compassion he showed represently Celebrity Resorts. I called the resort yesterday to personally thank Jeff for his exceptional service and apparently he no longer works there. I certainly hope someone can contact him and I pray he is blessed by God.

When I reserved the room it only had two stars so I was a little worried. It was great. The staff was really friendly , the room was clean . Pool and spa felt great and we were able to go at any time. We will stay there again!!!

Uneasy Feeling

We spent five days in this place over the last few weeks in January. I think to be fair I should list the things that made the "Resort" nice. The parking was underground and located right by the elevators. The staff was friendly and they did clean the room twice as promised. The location is right next to the court district and is an easy walk to the casinos. However the best casinos in town are a mile drive down the road. The showers were warm and everything worked in the room but the beds were like sleeping on concrete.

As for the negatives the "Resort" seems to be aged a bit. They advertise that there is a fitness center but it is very outdated and not worth the effort to walk down to it. The carpeting has seen its better days and almost looks like something out of a fraternity house. The rooms were mostly clean however the wallpaper was pealing and the windows did not lock right so there was cold air blowing in at night.

All and all this place is good enough to have a roof over your head to sleep but I wouldn't pay attention to details because you might get an uneasy feeling if you really start looking around. Personally they could try to make this place a bit better and hopefully that is the intention. However if I ever go back to Reno or Tahoe again I would look into staying somewhere else. Some other places that looked nice were the Hampton Inn, Legacy Casino, Peppermill, and the Atlantis Casino. Most of these places are located near the convention center. The Legacy Casino is the only one located downtown.

The only complaint I had was that the a/c unit was SO LOUD when it turned on. Other than that it was quiet, clean enough, close to the river and walking distance to downtown area. They could restock their vending machines a little more often though. Late night munchie search netted not much in their lobby vending area. Though we didn't take the kids this time there were daily activities/craft time for kids that looked fun. I absolutely loved the pool and spa. Spent every morning in there recharging for another day of gambling and drinking. I'd stay again.

Right off the bat I want to make it

Right off the bat I want to make it clear to everyone that this is a TIMESHARE hotel. So you don't get daily maid service like at a regular hotel. Next, the hotel is antiquated & needs a total renovation. Third, The A/C systems in the rooms are a joke. Blow warm air & even if they blew cool air you'd never get a wink of sleep. Loud, like a train in your room. Fourth, Walls are thin. Fifth, The wireless internet is a joke. You have to call an 800 number & pay a private vendor $10 a day. The service didn't even have enough bandwidth for me to check my email. All I could do was check the news. What good is having a kitchenette in your room when it's hot & noisy in your room & you can't even get a decent nights rest.

This hotel was in good order, clean, and presentable. The room was very nice with a small kitchenette. (ie. fridge, range, microwave) the staff is very friendly and helpful. We will be coming back to stay there again.

Good location for the price. Near downtown and the river park. This is an old "motor court" hotel that has been renovated very nicely, except for parking, which is sized for model T's. You WILL put a ding in your rental car.

Should be called the "Last Resort"

We flew into Reno on March 13th 2007 for the National Men's Bowling Tournament. We only had 2 weeks notice to fill and and virtually all the casino rooms were booked. We read the reviews on the Leisure Resort in Reno and said we would have faith and give it a try.

We checked in early evening. We were told to use the in-room safe (cost of $1.12/day) and were STRONGLY encouraged to use it for all valuables. Walking to the room it looked like a "pay by the hour" flop house. Dirty walls, florescent lights of various hues and an elevator that sounded like it was grinding to its last death.

Our room door faced the back of the facility and felt like the slums of Puerto Rico. The room was tired. Light bulb missing in one lamp, the bathroom so small it was hard to get in/out of. The bed must have been around for a decade and must have been the cheapest they could find.

The room got really warm (outside was around 80 degrees) so we turned on the air conditioning. It blew hot air. We went down to the desk and the attendant said they would have maintenance check on it but that they had gone home for the day. The next morning we went back to the desk and asked about the air only to be told that our room was on the main building system which had "seasonal" air so there was nothing to be done.

It was suggested that we not walk outside at night. The hotel sits next to the county court house and has a wide range of types of travelers.

I could go on but there is little point. We can sincerely say that this is a place you should AVOID at all costs. You would be better off staying almost anywhere else.
