Will never stay there again!!

When first arrived they gave me a room one first floor with a view of a wall and a generator from the building next door, disappointed with the room I went to go ask for another and the girl at the desk gave me another on 3rd floor. Needless to say the elevator hardly works got stuck half way and had to carry my luggage up two flights of stairs! As soon as I entered the room it looked bare and had two beds when I only booked one and the sheets were dirty the toilet was leaking. Unsatisfied I went to the front desk again asking for new sheets and the girl said she didn't have any and gave me another room on 2nd floor instead which wasn't much better but I settled. Overall the hotel looked like a cheap motel and the people that work there can hardly speak English never the less actually provide good customer service. I would not stay there again and the pictures are very misleading since the rooms look nothing like them and each one of them has a view of a wall unless your in one of the suites. But I'm glad I was only there for a long weekend.So please spend a little more and stay at a decent place where its nice and clean with better customer service.

Excellent value in a great location

Relatively basic, but great value on Ocean Drive. Restaurant/bar in lobby, directly on South Beach, very clean - great stay. Everything I expected

I recently visited the Cavalier Hotel... I didnt have an issue with anything. The staff were very helpful and EXTREMELY polite. Housekeeping made sure your bed is fresh and our room was spotless everytime we came back in. I was there for 3 nights and 4 days. The beach is right across the street and you are located in the middle of everything. I only wished they had carpet.. But even though they didnt I would stay there again. The FOOD was DELICIOUS!!!

Excellent , very cozy

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the cavalier through april 30 - may 7. It looks very deceivinig fromthe outside but we stayed in a suite and it was very cozy and nice. for those who had bad reviews must have stayed in a regular room. For a hotel like this , you have to stay in a suite to get the maximum benefit of the hotel. The staff was cordial and very accomodating. Our suite loked like an apartment. But hey for those who didnt like it, you get what you p ay for.

NOT Worth It!

I recently went to South Beach over Memorial Day Weekend and booked my stay through Orbitz. I have never posted reviews of hotels but the Cavalier is so bad that I am compelled to do so. First, the photos posted on the web does not looking anything like the hotel. It is run down, old, and musty. So old that even my towel had holes in it and my sheets looked dingy. Second, the walls are paper thin so every sound made by your neighbor can be heard! Third, the staff is unfriendly and not at all helpful. There was nothing positive that I can say about our experience. Please don't waste your hard earned money here! ~Disappointed in San Francisco.

Great value for South Beach!

Fantastic value - right on Ocean Drive! <2 minute walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. Clean/simple hotel. Rooms were small and basic, but perfectly acceptable. Few amenities, but how much time do you spend in your room when you're in South Beach? There is a bar/restaurant in the lobby (as there is in most South Beach hotels) which was convenient for quick meals/drinks. Quick check-in/check-out process, friendly employees/guests, no complaints at all. For the price, I can't imagine a better deal in South Beach

Couldn't wait to leave the Cavalier Hotel

We stayed before a cruise. The guest rooms are not air conditioned. A large bug or spider fell off the wall or ceiling during the night and woke my daughter up as it bit her 2-3 times in the left temple area. We left the lights on for the rest of the night. We also had trouble with the bartender about returning a meal that was inedible as it had way too much salt in it. Must be they really are on a budget there, as he did not want to take it back. This is not a good place for families to stay, but may be ok for the student that really does not care about bugs in their bed.
