The 1 brm unit was newly renovated. These units are all owned by different owners, so it really depends on which unit you get. Ours was beautiful with a wonderful full view of the ocean from the sixth floor. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bedroom had a king bed and leather pull out sofa. We never heard any construction noise from the unit. The washer/dryer was great. We would stay there again in the near future and have recommended it to all our friends.

We booked our 1 week stay in room 1118

We booked our 1 week stay in room 1118 from a referral through vbro.com. I contacted the owner of a unit listed on vbro but he didn't have the week we wanted. However, he referred us to his friend that had his unit available. The unit is on the opposite side from the beach, $420/night. The unit is large enough.

We loved it! Not a lot of activities

We loved it! Not a lot of activities at this condo but we spent most of our time at other resorts. Outrigger which was next door was under construction and probably will be for the next 6 months. Donald Trumps building was sprouting nicely! Which is right behind Castle and Outrigger. Can't wait to go back to Hawaii next year. Our room was always clean and maid service was prompt each day. Safe in room was secured by 1 key! View was beautiful. So much to do in Hawaii.

Booked a 2 night trip here while

Booked a 2 night trip here while staying on Maui. Room description was "Deluxe Ocean View" When we arrived in the room, it was on the street end of the building, and balcony overlooked Ft DeRussy Park with an excellen view of the tanks and equipment in front of the museum. If you stood on the edge of the balcony you could see a sliver of blue that probably was the ocean. Management would not budge when we told them the room was not as advertised so we wound up checking out of the place and going next door to the Outrigger Reef on the Beach at our own expense. If you stay here, be aware that this might happen to you

The Good - Very clean, great location,

The Good - Very clean, great location, wonderful view
The Bad - 2 twin beds pushed together for 1 queen, not the 2 double beds we expected.
The Irritating - One very Slow elevator - Second elevator was out of order; But on the plus side, we took the stairs a lot resulting in less vacation pounds we need to loose!
Bottom Line - WE LOVED IT AND WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN!We stayed 6 days at the Castle Waikiki Shore Resort over Thanksgiving 2007 and loved this location and room. The view from the balcony was fantastic! The one-bedroom unit was very large; however the one-bedroom is really just an accordion divider separating the bed from the living room. It was very nice having a washer and dryer in the room. The kitchen facilities were fine. Had dishes and cookware, but you will need your own salt, pepper & sugar. With 2 teen boys, the bedding was a bit of a disappointment since we only had two twin beds pushed together rather than 2 double beds as expected. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable. Ended up buying air mattresses from Wal-Mart for the boys. The parking garage was convenient given the parking in Waikiki and seemed reasonable at $18 per day. Very nice having an assigned parking spot, but don't expect to park a very large vehicle. These spots are SMALL!Convenient location within walking distance of great restaurants. A couple of miles from Wal-Mart and a new large Safeway grocery store.

A nice hotel with great security. I

A nice hotel with great security. I had my wife, child and mother-in-law with me. All of the door men and valets at the Outrigger Reef next door that you use were great! Having the kitchen sink, refridgerator, stove and coffee maker was great. We had dinner in the room 3 nights allowing us to save money. The beach was right downstairs and the restaurants in the Outrigger Reef next door were good as well. The only negative was that the construction next door is still ongoing which got loud during the day. For the price and location of being right on the beach, you can't beat it. There is also an awesome view of Diamond head from the beach. I would definetely reccomend this hotel and I would stay there again

It was a really nice location, close to everything, shopping and food. Was supposed to be a deluxe ocean view that maybe would have been a partial ocean view if the palm trees were shorter. The room was nice and clean. Staff was really accomadating aside from the ocean view issue. Had a really amazing time other than that.

Loved It :)

We just got back from our trip. Loved the condo..excellent view, not only did you see the ocean but there is a park and museum..so when you looked out from the lani there wasn't another building that you had to look at. We normally like it quiet , with smaller crowds , but we really enjoyed the whole experience ! We checked some rooms at very nearby big hotels...lobbies are beautiful , but all you get is a room however nice they are ! There was a full kitchen , W/D , small tub and shower , very open and clean !! Also very quiet ,we were on the 8th floor. 2nd time to hawaii....we would most deffinatly go back to the Outrigger Shores !!!
