We flew to San Clemente from the mid-west to get married. We resided in the gorgeous Casablanca Penthouse! When we arrived there was a bottle of wine waiting in our room and for our wedding night, champagne! It was great experience! Our innkeeper actually located a minister for us and we were married on the patio of the penthouse at sunset! I highly recommend this B&B to everyone.

We also did not have reservations. The man at the desk check us in quickly and gave us a garage opener so that we could park our car in a free secured lot just around the corner. The room (Casa Arena) was very nicely decorated: DVD, flat screen TV, beautiful four-post bed and pillow top duvet - extremely comfortable! The pillows were a bit flimsy. Next time I'll bring my own. The room had a nice view of the ocean - but is partially blocked by the staircase. The bathroom is showing its age..but was still very clean and charming. The jacuzzi tub is built for two, but the jets were not very strong and the hot water comes out slow. The inn provided two comfy robes. The outside patio areas are extremely inviting and is a very romantic spot to watch the sun set. Overall, my husband and I were extremely happy with room accomodations.
Now, let me preface the rest of my review with the fact that I am a bit of a food snob. The inn has baskets of packaged foods in your room, for you to eat and snack on. (Famous Amos cookies, bear claws, Hostess muffins, Wheat Thins, BabyBell cheese, Dole fruit cups, Yoplait yogurt, Quaker granola bars). Now, my husband couldn't have cared less, but with all the attention to detail in the rooms, I guess I expected a little more effort with the food. I felt they could provide a much more personal and fresh breakfast with just a tiny bit more effort. For example, fresh fruit, maybe some muffins/pastries from a local bakery, etc...As for the munchie bar mentioned on their site...it is baskets of fruit and hot coffee, tea bags and cocoa packets available all day long. To end on a good note, they stock your room fridge with water, juice, wine and champagne that is included with the price of the room. Overall, I would definitely go back, as the room and ambience outweighed my disappointment with the food.

This was a nice little suprise for us. We did not have reservations as we were just driving the coast midweek and happened to stop to check out the pier. My husband and I stay in b&bs all of the time and are always excited to check out new locations. This one did not disappoint. Our room casa estrayamar was emaculate and very comfy-cozy. The bed was great and I slept like a log! The outdoor patio gives you a full view of the ocean and is a great place to chill out with a book or a glass of wine. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We will recommend this place to friends and family and hope to come back ourselves soon!

pros: great views, walk to everything, clean, friendlyWe stayed at the Casa Tropicana in the first week of April. San Clemente is a cute littel town and the hotel is right across from all of the action at the pier. We went to the beach (they had chairs and umbrellas and towels for us) and had dinner on the pier. Now to the room. Our room was not an ocean view room but the deck is an ocean view deck. The room was beautiful, clean and upscale without being at all pretentious. It is not the St. Regis and does not pretend to be, but everything is very nice. The prices are a teeny tiny bit steep but compared to other hotels that are at the pier the prices are very fair. It is definately the nicest, newest, cleanest place at the beach and worth the couple bucks more. The small staff were very helpful and attentive and really added to the stay. We will go back and advise friends to do the same!

I like this place very much. It is clean and well-equiped and the staff is very friendly. There is no better location in San Clemente. You are in THE prime spot with the water and pier right there. The beds are comfy and fresh smelling. They serve you breakfast every morining and we ate it on the deck watching the water.
