I've stayed here several times, and it is by far the nicest hotel in town. The bathroom has a sep.tub/shower. It's minutes from everything, staff is nice, hotel is clean, I will continue to stay here. It's also very close to the Veteran's Administration.

We stayed at the Carnegie as a family.

We stayed at the Carnegie as a family. Our visit to the area was extended and so became our stay there at the hotel. The staff was always courteous. The rooms were luxurious, the restaurant: Wellingston's was fabulous, and the Austin Springs Spa was heaven on Earth! I couldn't believe, having stayed at many other 3-5 star rated hotels around the country that we found this gem, hidden in the artwork of the glorious mountains of East Tennessee.

Stay did not live up to 3-Star rating.

Stay did not live up to 3-Star rating. Hallways needed vacuming, poor beds (old, too soft) limited staff. Items were accidently removed from our room by staff and reported well in advance of our departure. When items were recovered, we had to pay to have them shipped. Not out fault that staff took our items.

Pleasant atmosphere. Some families didn't know when to call it a `night.“Not all that bad, but some of the front desk crew seemed like they would rather be somewhere else sometimes. Place sure looks elegant enough, nice looking hotel, all the way around.”

Great Place, great staff and service. Huge rooms, well decorated. Wonderful, though pricy, resturant. Other resturants within walking distance.Without a doubt, the best place that I've stayed in this decade.

I was very pleasantly surprised to find

I was very pleasantly surprised to find such a fine hotel in such a small town. The rooms are huge and well ppointed. The bathrooms are very large. The Carnegie will make my business ravel to Johnson City much more enjoyable. It is a refreshing change from chain properties. I am happy to reccomend it!

The room was quite a nice size.. no

The room was quite a nice size.. no bellhop to help us with our bags, either coming or going. The shower was a cheap hand held shower head that didn't work and faced to the outside if you put it in the holder. The water just trickled out. I was told that it would be fixed the next day when I phoned the front desk. We didn't stay the 2 nights we had planned - got charged 1/2 a night stay for leaving early.
