I prepaid for a larger suite at the Carlyle, only to be told they were 'overbooked'. I was sent to a noisy, small, grubby hotel across town, without even an apology from staff. The same thing happened to several colleagues. The Carlyle seems nice an

I recently visited this hotel for Valentin'e Day and I have to say it was a pleasant stay. The room was exactly what I was hoping for. I planned a romantic dinner and having the kitchen right in the room made it a success! The comfort of the Grand King bed was outstanding! My partner recently had surgery and had not had a decent night sleep until that night..lol..anyway, I want to thank the staff for their great service and pleasant attitude. I really enjoted my one night stay & most definetly would stay there again. I will say this may be my new favorite DC Hotel!

The Carlyle Suites Hotel is a fantastic value. I stayed there on 2/18/09. I am sure you will not get a better value for the money in DC. Medium sized room, huge flat screen TV, comfortable bed, good location and free wireless - what does any traveler need? Oh yeah - the staff is friendly AND efficient. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the Carlyle from the Dupont Circle Metro.

The staff was courteous, professional and helpful.
Super clean suite with Art Deco furnishings.
Great mattress and comforter just made you want to wrap up warm after a day sightseeing.Ultra caring -- The condo next door had an electrical fire while we were there and no resident was allowed back. The hotel housed and fed the condo residents during a preholiday week.. Minimal parking

An Art Deco Jewel

This Art Deco jewel is a suite only hotel that resembles many of it's apartment building neighbors on the outside but offers much to look at inside. The hotel features an enclosed patio/atrium for dining and retro cocktail lounge. An advantage of The Carlyle is it's great location with in Dupont Circle which makes for great access to many of the fine dining, and available shops as well as a commutable distance to many of the sights.

All Review Photos I have just returned

All Review Photos I have just returned from the Carlyle Suites Hotel for the famed Cherry Blossom festival. I have stayed at the hotel before and I knew it was always a good find, but now it is even better. The Carlyle Hotel has a stellar location on New Hampshire Ave in Dupont Circle. It is quite and to my surprise, fixed up quite a bit! They clearly made updates to the lobby by adding new marble floors, curtains, furniture and new wall paper. The front desk checked me in and they couldn't have been nicer! It's rare to find good service these days. They gave me a really large sized room but the bonus for me was that they they had just replaced all the rooms with all new sheets and duvets! A huge improvement from what they had! I always loved the kitchenette with the stove, fridge, glasses, plates, silverware, etc. Really handy when you have to stay a week like I did. They used to have a restaurant called Lilly's, and to tell you the truth, it was never my favorite, but they replaced the chef and I was wowed! I had the shrimp and linguine, it was amazing!!! I highly recommend this hotel to you and your friends, Its affordable and a nice change from the big boring hotels.

Great location, comfortable beds.No towel bars.“Nice location, easy walks to Metro. Within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, shops. Area felt very safe, lots of people out walking at most times of the day. We enjoyed having a small kitchen in the room. Worked out great with kids.”

Great Hotel

The Carlyle Suites hotel was undergoing a major renovation to the lobby and some of the rooms that was a little bit of a pain. Other than that I really like the hotel. The rooms were bigger than normal and although we did not use the kitchen it was nice to know that we cold. We had 6 of us who each got there own room. We stayed in our room most of the time which was in the back left of the hotel. It was really great that we could keep the car in the parking lot in the back. We got to the hotel late Thursday night and there were more than enough spots. We left the car parked out back the whole time. We were close to the Metro but it was a bit of a walk. Jurys another hotel in the area was right on the circle and had a good restaurant in the lobby. We all enjoyed our stay and would come back. I recommend taking a cab over to adams morgan where there are a ton of bars and people of all ages all over. Great hotel great time would definitely stay again.

We were moved to this hotel due to our prior reservation not being honored by the Savoy Inn. Customer service was poor at best and were difficult to understand. Hotel had very few ammenities with a very small lobby and bar. We were told the hotel was new but the building had to be at least 100 years old. Parking was difficult to access and probably only had 10 parking spots for the building.

The rooms were adequate for a business traveler. The public spaces are inconvenient owing to ongoing construction work and there is no internet in the rooms.“I think the Carlyle Suites is adequate for a business traveler; however it has certain drawbacks, i.e. no internet in the rooms and construction in the public spaces.”
