A/C didn't work, shower and carpet and beds were horrible. Service wasn't the best either. But for that prized view of the Lake, honestly right next to the boardwalk, how can you beat the price? For a place to sleep it is worth what you get. Hey, you'll see more of Duluth because you won't want to be in the hotel room! They ARE tearing the place down, however, and replacing it with what looks like a very nice place. Go to Canal Park Lodge to check it out. Yes it is an older hotel but it is being remodeled and that takes time. I thought the service at the front desk was great. I don't see the need to tear down a building if it can be renovated. I don't spend time there to watch t.v or eat. I spend my time sight seeing. I like it there because I don't have to pay a small fortune. The view alone is worth the rate. I vacation on a budget and would rather not spend all my money on the hotel.
