My family and I recently stayed at Canal Park Lodge and loved it! The rooms are comfortable, the free breakfast is great, and all of the staff is very friendly. I loved our lakeview room and my kids loved the pool area. If you plan on going to Duluth, stay at the Canal Park Lodge!

Still there, completely renovated

I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know traveling to Duluth, MN. The view of the lake and the access to the shops is worth it alone. Add in the fact that this place was recently renovated - a complete overhaul, makes it a must. Rooms are great, common areas that you actually want to hang out in, comfortable, and friendly helpful staff!

Althou the staff was very helpfull and atentive, the hotel itself leave much to be desiere. The room was not confortable, the bed was very hard, much like sleeping on the floor (the pillows were very confortable however).
I stayed there to save some money. If I ever have to go back to Mumbai, I problably spend a few hundred more to stay at the Marriot.

Great place to stay

Within walking distance of everything fun in Duluth (except the Miller Hill Mall). Some rooms have a great view of the lake, and those that don't are a good value. Friendly to families and festivities alike.

This is old. The place has been plowed down

Canal Park Inn has been demolish with good reason it was a rundown looking place and very out of place in the canal park hotel strip. They are building a new place but I am unaware of the name.

It was icky, but I'd go again.

OK, so the place is absolutely disgusting, dank and dismal. A/C didn't work, shower and carpet and beds were horrible. Service wasn't the best either. But for that prized view of the Lake, honestly right next to the boardwalk, how can you beat the price? For a place to sleep it is worth what you get. Hey, you'll see more of Duluth because you won't want to be in the hotel room! They ARE tearing the place down, however, and replacing it with what looks like a very nice place. Go to Canal Park Lodge to check it out. We're booking our vacation now.

I like it

I like the Canal Park Inn. Yes it is an older hotel but it is being remodeled and that takes time. I thought the service at the front desk was great. I don't see the need to tear down a building if it can be renovated. I don't spend time there to watch t.v or eat. I spend my time sight seeing. I like it there because I don't have to pay a small fortune. The view alone is worth the rate. I vacation on a budget and would rather not spend all my money on the hotel. I would like to think that the beutiful view of Lake Superior was meant for all, not just the rich.
