One person in our group moaned that the rooms were rather small, but it was rather churlish, as everything as the room still had everything you needed and was well-designed to fit the compact space. The bed was still a generous size, with huge square pillows; it was quite possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Continental breakfast was included in the price and offered a huge choice of fruit, cereal, cheeses, and cooked meats. We visit Stockholm at least once a year. The staff at the Birger have made us feel like part of their family. We have never had a bad experience. Many times the staff has gone beyond what was expected for us. They are a great bunch. Breakfast is typically Swedish and huge. It is wonderful. The rooms are small but we found that at the Royal Viking which cost 3 times as much. There are tons of cute shops just down the hill on Sveavagen.
