Paper ceilings. Noisy. The motel was good enough for an overnight stay. Reasonably clean and appointed like most motels of this type. The walls were very thin and it sounded like the folks above us were going to crash through the ceiling at any time. The restaurant was okay coffee shop quality. Free breakfast was not a selling point. Twice we went to the front desk; twice there was staff smoking outside. Appearance was good. When we checked into the hotel, there was a staff standing at the front entrance smoking. Lady that checked us in was good and very friendly. Room smelt old when we first went in. Got used to it 15 minutes later though. We went to the front desk much later just before dinner to ask questions. Staff was outside smoking again. That is a huge turnoff. If they want to smoke, they should go somewhere else to smoke. Breakfast was better than most places. Walls very thin and could hear from the next room very clear. Would not stay in this hotel again. The rooms were clean. We only stayed overnight but we weren't bothered by any of the neighboring rooms. The Northwoods Rest/Lounge was a great place to get a few cocktails. The breakfast in the morning was awesome. The area is kinda scary in some parts. The bed was horrible. Very uncomfortable. The hotel was ok. Nothing great about it. The room was clean. All the appliances, lights etc. Were unplugged when we got to room. The mattresses need to be replaced they were very uncomfortable and I woke up with a backache.
