The hotel shuttle was free and very helpful to get to and from Penn station, New Jersey. I did not know that I could have called the hotel shuttle when my flight landed at Newark, so that was a pretty expensive cab ride because the driver did not know the route to the hotel. Overall, if you are looking for inexpensive and clean room for a short stay, the hotel is just fine. You're just minutes from the airport, but it's very industrial, a little intimidating. The inside of the hotel is nice, and the room we stayed in had a large jacuzzi tub big enough for 2-3 people. That was a fun bonus. Overall, an okay place to stay, and the price was right. I got a room with only one bed, whereas I already paid for a room with 2. They basically gave me a run-around in terms of a promised price adjustment and I am still trying to sort this out. Poorly trained staff since I got 5 different versions of what will be refunded, when, and how. As far as the location, it's really hard to find and the gym facility was non-existant (broken equipement). Drapes smelled of tobacco in the non smoking rooms. Carpets in hallways of hotel smelled musty and damp. Food scattered all over the floor in the breakfast area and nobody bothered to clean it up. Free shuttle to and from EWR was a rusty old van with no windows. In a very remote scary area that over looks a builders yard. Paid cash for the shuttle to Penn Station and was also charged on my credit card, we called the hotel after the bill and this has since been rectified.
