My husband and I went down to Daytona for the weekend in February. This hotel was VERY affordable for an oceanfront location so I was skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean. The staff was very friendly. We had a gorgeous view of t

Great location - great view

This is an older hotel, but the rooms were large and clean. We had a balcony on the ocean and we had a great view of the town from our front door. The location was perfect for wandering through Daytona and the little beach front restaurant that is next door was wonderful. Great food. The breakfast at the hotel in the morning was more than we expected.

Parking was very difficult. It was very hard to find late at night. The security staff was not on the same page. The front desk clerk gave me a parking pass and told me where to park. A security guard told me to move the car to another lot, much further away from the hotel.

No A/c no balcony double billing

If you look at there web site it states each well-appointed room features a personal balcony, not so, our rooms 317 417 had no balcony. So it should say most rooms have balconies. Also the first room we had room 317 had a a/c that hardly worked at all. After calling the front desk the service tech said that we were impatient, the a/c was on for 3 hours and it must have been over 85 in the room. So after talking to the desk they sent us to room 417. This room also had no balcony but a newer a/c that did work some. Let it be said I am a A S E Master tech with cars and I know that the a/c in room 417 was not working up to par, it was at least 80 to 85 in that room. Then when checking out the bill said a lower rate than we had on are recite. After asking the clerk if that they might have double billed us he said no. Will I got my American express bill and I have been double billed. After talking to the staff which is off until Tuesday they say that they will fix it. I hope better than the a/c. I have stayed in many Best Westerns and I find them to be the best deal most of the time. The Daytona Beach area is very nice and the Hotel has a great location. The day that we stayed was very hot near record highs.

I think the hotel is okay. I think that there is always room for improvement, for starters fix the elevators or get new ones. I also don't feel that any hotel should ask for the first night deposit upon booking. Along with that, I also don't think that the hotel should be able to charge you twice for the same night on two different credit card accounts!!!! They double dipped which is not cool with me! This would be my first and last visit at this hotel!!

The hotel is definitely showing its age

The hotel is definitely showing its age but the staff and location make it appealing. Located in a section of Daytona in a state of developmental transition the hotel offers basic but comfortable oceanfront accomodations. All the staff I met during my stay were very friendly and helpful. Next door is the Ocean Deck restaurant a venerable Daytona beach hangout which adds to the old time Daytona beach experience.
