But they were very friendly and polite never the less. The lobby staff was very friendly and polite. It is a very clean hotel. Did not see any broken/defective items any where on the grounds. (Usually, one sees at least a door or two that needs repair or an unpainted wall.) So, there was a slight mess and the portable closet was out of place. If the room had been "ready" it would have received a better rating from me. However, when I mentioned this problem upon checkout, the front desk person offered to comp my meal at Dennis, but we had already eaten breakfast. Bed sheets and pillows were dirty with dead insects and hair on them and smelled bad. Had to bring sleeping bag in from car. Pubic hairs on toilet and shower. Sink broken. Carpet gross...didn't want to take off shoes. Furnishings very old, stained, worn. Sound of traffic on PCH was loud.
