Sitting by the pool watching my son swim, a rat ran right by me and the next night a rat ran under my feet as we returned from dinner. 2. The draws had dirt and hair in them. 3. The remote controls for the TVs needed new batteries and were impossible to use. 4. The movie I ordered turned off after 10 minutes. 5. The toilet was broken and made a strange loud noise. The breakfast was disappointing. They had us booked into a smoking room, my reservation was for non-smoking. I had to call the travel agency to get the hotel to come up with another room, and we went from a suite with 2 beds to a suite with 1 bed and a fold out couch in the living room area. My kids didn't want to sleep on the couch-bed, all the noise from the pool area was a little frightening to them, so my husband and I spent our vacation sleeping in separate rooms. And the way the rooms are set up, if you have to sleep in the living room area, you are only feet from the pool, outdoor bar, and billards table, and all the loud talking and laughter that goes along with a bar at night. The couch, when folded out, had a wafer thin mattress, and takes up the whole room, so we had to make it up first thing in the morning...yes, I got to spend my vacation making up a bed 2x/day. The staff was rude, after calling and asking about getting an extra towel, I was afraid to call the front desk again, the woman was rude and sarcastic. When I made up the couch the first night, I unfolded the blanket, and found long black hairs scattered all over it...so they were apparently not washing the blankets between guests. There was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom, and mildew around the tub. The free breakfast is a joke, the orange juice is actually weak Tang, there is not enough seating, cereal ran out , the fruit is canned fruit cocktail. Our kids were 9. 15 and 16, and we never heard a complaint from any of them. The pool was nice and a good size. The hot tub felt wonderful and relaxing. The staff was pleasant and helpful. It is located around the corner from Busch Gardens and about an hour drive to Sea World. It is about 30 minutes to the beach at Indian Rock Shores. The location was an added bonus. It was a pleasant family meeting place. I was considering changing my reservation to a different hotel after reading some comments; however, I am glad I didn't. The room was big and very clean. Shower had hot water! The pool was great for kids and the bar was right next to it so parents could enjoy drinks while still keeping an eye on the children. The staff was very friendly and even printed out our boarding passes for us when we checked out. The location is excellent....Busch Gardens is less than a mile. Lots of places to eat and grocery store nearby. I will stay again with my family. The pool and outdoor activities seemed real inviting. Even the bedrooms/suites looked nice; however, they were bug infested. Our room had tiny bugs all over the table, our towels,and the telephone. I was scared to go to sleep, because I thought there might be bugs in the covers. Their continental breakfast was a joke. The milk was served hot and sat out from 6am-10am when breakfast ended and there were roaches walking on the fruit basket. I receieved a refund. Security had to be called. The water was out in the building for almost a day and they did not provide water for drinking or washing. No water meant no toilets. When called about the water situation the front desk was rude. They would promise the water would be fixed in an hour but several hours later it still was not working. Only 2 elevators and one was out of service.
